As far as the best peak performance HDH in 1964-67 was the best ever for Motown producers. Many of their hits went #1 Pop and R&B. Norman never accomplished that over a 3 year period

@@saj8I don't believe so respectfully... HDH and Smokey had much power over creative direction at Motown because of their hitmaking streaks and Whitfield couldn't get anything in edgewise. As far as HDH, they were extremely ambitious and felt as if they deserved their own imprint and more money at Motown for their work.

Golden touch Honorable mention "Hum along and dance"- The Temptations among the 40 or more tracks that I really liked. Overall if you want to talk about longevity among the producers, Norman was the best producer ever at Motown BUT Holland-Dozier-Holland (1964-67), "The Corporation" and Smokey Robinson were the best overall producers if you want to talk in terms of peak performance in their prime.

How much do you get paid? . ❤Now you all go back into that vocal booth and sing your songs, while I produce. ❤ He told The band members of the temptations. When they came to Nornan Whitfield. telling him that his music production was not good enough for their songs. All this according to biography of Barry Gordy. Manager of Motown.

One time he went to meet her at the airport as she arrived. ❤❤Norman Whitefield brought to her a long white fur coat and drapped it on her, saying. ❤ Woman, you are a super star now. and you need to look the like a star. ..Here, Wear this long white fur coat as you walk through the airport. ❤She gladly accepted the fur coat on her.. That white fur coat gave her status in the eyes of all the passengers. ❤ That song Car Wash... sold millions of copies on the billboard charts. For several months. Jesus Christ is Lord.

funny thing is, I was just thinking about Norman earlier today. Rod Temperton, El Debarge, and Norman Whitfield are my ALL-time favorite Music Composers. in just that order, I was thinking, earlier. for well OVER a decade for Motown. Norman was cranking out MORE HITS back in the 1960's and 70's. than Ford and Chrysler could roll out cars. Norman was so HOT he ran Quincy Jones OUT of R&B, Pop music world as a music producer. Quincy moved to Hollywood to do movie scores and T.v theme songs. Quincy came BACK in R&B, Pop music as a music producer. in the mid 70's. around this time.1975 was time Norman left Motown/coincidence, I don't know. my point being, doing Norman awesome run, Quincy Jones himself. COULD'NT compete...NOW WHAT DOES TELL YOU ABOUT NORMAN'S GENIUS.
