33 year old car guy here, and the 300S is pretty much the perfect car in my opinion (the non-S models do look pretty geriatric). It's a big body, Mercedes-derived sedan with an easy to tune, big American pushrod V8. It's super comfortable. The blackout trim makes it look menacing. The UConnect is so well-done it feels natural. It handles well enough for a luxury cruiser. It's a big car but it doesn't feel like a big car (i.e., you don't feel like you're sitting in a cockpit with miles of dashboard in front of you). It has digital gauges that tell you oil, coolant, and transmission temperatures in REAL TIME. And best of all, it's fast. You can tell Chrysler still employs some gearheads!

I bought a new 3.6 8 speed 300 base model, with uconnect and audio upgrade, rwd, heated seats and little options like that, five years and 72000 trouble free miles and I still love driving her. still gets looks and compliments. mpg is great for a big car. I absolutely would get another.I sold my old 2005 hemi to a neighbor kids five years ago with 120,000 miles, and he still owns it today, nearly 200k miles, and he still loves it. I hope when I'm ready for my new car in three years or so, the 300 retains this Dane basic formula. I'll be upset if they turn it into a fwd Taurus Impala Avalon wanabe.

As I'm commenting Chrysler just announced the 2023 model year is the last for the 300, and i'm shocked to how well its aged. The basic design has been around for 12 years and it still is comfortable and powerful. Sad to see it will be the final full-sized sedan to roll off the assembly line.

I'm a big fan of the 300/Charger. A big sedan that is comfortable, can have power, and is attractive. Plus they may not necessarily break the bank. I've had a 2012 Charger SXT and can honestly say the initial 31 MPG highway it was given is legitimate. I currently have a 2018 Charger R/T and have seen 28 MPG highway at the tail end of a long 600 mile trip to the east coast. And I have never reset my MPG calculator. And these cars were and are trouble free. Chrysler built winners with these and they are the new Crown Vics in terms of long term tweaking and reliability.

I personally find pretty much all Studebakers to be grossly underrated. Most people that I talk to either don't know it existed or view it as a total joke. I also like the Chrysler 300 quite a bit,as it was pretty much the under-dog of the industry back in the Daimler-Chrysler era. Or to buy new Mercedes That's not a problem if your in Mercedes wealthy demographic... But when they implemented it in dodge and chrysler which are both blue collar brands it just ended up pissing people off and instead of going to the dealership they just went to a used dealership and traded their old car in.

Mario Master 02 No, not since Fiat has restructured the brand. Chrysler will still make nice cars, but they will be designed to fight head on with Ford or Toyota. I think that Chrysler will still be higher quality.

A Chrysler Imperial never had front wheel drive unless you consider the one's made in the 80s or 90s. However, those hardly stack up to the Imperials of decades earlier. Chrysler makes good front wheel drive, but rear wheel drive is what I prefer. Also as to standing up to Toyota that's what Fiat claims. I fucking hate Toyota. Their cars look and drive like shit. Never will they compare to a Chrysler.

all chrysler cars including dodge and jeep have a lot of problems with their tie rods. I had a bunch of customers come in for oil changes with new chrysler cars barely have 10,000 miles on them and their tie rods had much play. I wouldn't buy those cars but if you are planning to buy one you might as well take it to get some top of the line steering parts from somewhere else as soon ads you take it out the dealer so you won't damage the tires and get a V8 I've seen a lot of problems with the V6s

I remember looking at a new 05 300C, and though I liked the size and roomy interior, I still have the same gripes about it now, as I did then.. and some new 1's.. The car has no styling lines..The front end looks like 1 already smashed into something. No 300 crossbar grill as every 300 of the past did. Steering is still numb though better than the 05-09 models. Brakes are way better now than on the original 05. However, wtf is with the stupid rotary dial for a gear changer? Put a GD lever in it with PRNDL gates like it's supposed to have.. And why is the optional 5.7 Hemi downgraded in power, AGAIN? So 1 can run crap regular fuel? So old people can keep their depends clean? Nope not the car for me...

All true. The grill then became the trademark as did the red white and blue emblem, on both letter and non letter cars. I personally like that grill better, that's all. I like the new 300s for what they are, but I'll never own 1. I'd get a Charger if I were still in the large car market.

The original Chrysler 300 Letter Cars from 1955-1965 were so much better!!! I have been inside these cars and they are not that roomy and not that comfortable. Lincoln and Cadillac were a lot better. Even the older 90s 300's were nicer and more comfortable than these new ones.

marky0071 so whats wrong with large sedans? those large sedans from back then look a lot better than the ugly small SUV/CUVs that you see on the road today, not to mention the reason its as slow as it is is because its the v6 variant, the V8 will bring it up to atleast 5.7 seconds in a 0-60, the LEAST.
