Is that nailing sound normal? I have a B14XFT and it sounds like that.

No, it's not. It needs ECU update and different oil. Opel had recall on all new 1.4T 125 and 150hp versions because of the problem with engine/turbo/software. Engine works "without" turbo betwen 3000-4000rpm it goes in LSPI "mode". And that can ruin your engine internals. Opel released update MY2018 for fixing this.

You are hearing a combination of the high pressure fuel pump and direct injection system. I own two of these engines and they sound the same.
