Ive had every Samsung Flip and got the Motorola Razr+ as a backup because i kept having issues with my Flips. Ive had no issue with my Razr and could care less about Android 13,14 or 15 as it did NOT affect how i used/interacted with my phone. And before you ask i am NOT a lame phone user and use it for everything from monitoring my vehicle, ID, Wallet and to access and control my home. So there's that.

I agree and, frankly, most of the time when I've had problems with my phone it's been because of Android version updates. I buy a phone for what it is at the time I buy it

GSMArena says the connection is USB 2.0, and 2.0 doesn’t have the bandwidth past 30hz

Great vid! How about takin selfies (night time/low light) with the main cam when folded? Can the flash be activated? Anyone?

i'd love to see a full camera review of both and how does one differ from another.

Disagree, the ultrawide lens has saved so many photos of mine. I use it much more than the 2x - but if the data says that's what people do then I guess I can't argue with that.

How much do both models differ in energy consumption? There are different processors. Which model will live longer and for how much longer? I listen to KZread in the background all day long and my Galaxy S21 is already discharged by 18-00

2 pressing questions: Does it have LE Bluetooth? And What specs protect against the crease? For example i am still using a razr 2020 5G and that screen actually moved a littlw when it folded shut to reduce tension. As a reault im still using this beauty in 2024 with zero crease.

It does have LE Bluetooth. I can't say for sure if there is anything special that helps with the crease, but I've got a 2023 base model that still doesn't really have a noticeable crease, so if the 2024 if improved from that I'm sure it's not a problem

Can you return missed calls from the cover display? Sounds basic, but the razr 40+ can't.

i wish google pixel would come out with a flip phone

You should go to Apple, pay a fortune for a lower quality phone and a so bad user interface. iPhone doesn't even let receive or send bluetooth files from Windows, Android or any other device. Lol, thats value right there 😅

While I appreciate more variety in colors from companies, a standard black should always be expected for all models. Some people just don't want a whacky green or pink.

Most main cameras on phones are already 24-28mm anything under that will start giving you the fish eye effect. Tele lenses take better shots of human subjects which most people would prefer

Motorola doesn’t have pulltabs for easier battery removal for repair purposes unlike Samsung’s foldables.

If you dont know man try to shut t f up and do some research. They are not doing this because they can get away with it, they are trying to improve there updates and software as much as possible, they said they will improve it, mostly it is due to there new UI and some of it is because of bad blood between moto and google. So first they are trying to improve the matter on there hand such as UI experience, build quality, features, pricing etc. The use and throw tactic of google which moto faced and still from bottom it was able to climb was no less than a miracle, compared to brands like nokia which had hit bottom of the barrel.

They need to get on Verizon

Why should I upgrade my 2023 model? In general - AI is garbage by the way. $20 a month after 3 months. Easy pass.

When will these companies learn NOT to have such a long wait between debut and sales. A full month before anyone can get their hands on it. Samsung’s Z Flip will be in customer hands before this and their event isn’t until July 10th. Motorola still operates like it’s a decade ago. It’s going to cost them

Samsung’s event will steal some thunder and their arguably superior foldable will be ready BEFORE Motorola’s. It’s not a decade ago. So many issues with the razor 40 plus. Web pages not displaying properly, external screen glitchy and non responsive (especially for skipping music if it's not unlocked). FP doesn't always unlock the phone when closed. Still running android 13. No sign of any update soon. Camera are meh! Not bad but not fantastic either. The "Moto ready" bloatware is pointless. Overheats like crazy when charging either wireless or wired. All in all it would have been good 3 years ago. But it is cheap so..... Bare in mind these will probably suffer the same issues, it's the same company. NO UPDATES!! Poor support. Also can't plug in a USB-C - 3.5 jack adapter and play music on an amp. (Not compatible). In fact I think it may be the least adaptive and user friendly phone I've owned.

Only 3 years software update? This is why Apple is on top even if it’s a boring phone but my iPhone X is still receiving updates 😂 this is what happens with an open software they just drop it and release a new device.

This is why I dislike Android authority.. they report on things that they truly know nothing about and act like they do.. The 2024 plus has a snapdragon 8 gen 3 processor in it.. only the regular razr comes with the MediaTech processor...

We get Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 phones for around $480 in India.

But i mean theres no 'razor' in this thing. The razr was called razr for a reason; cuz it looked like (gave the impression) of a razor like thing with sharp edges, dynamic shapes, etc. It had this razor-feel to it if yall know what i mean. This thing here has nothing to do with a razor. Its just a smartphone that folds up. BORING.

That RAZR is truly disappointing - Since January users have to open the phone to use Google Assistant, and Moto is not even committing to fix this critical user-function, despite still advertising that Assistant can be used with the phone closed. It is a serious defect for a phone that promotes usability when closed. The Lenovo/Moto/RAZR support/discussion board shows how little Moto is taking any responsibility of a broken feature Moto specifically promotes. Moto RAZR... outrageous you have to open the phone to use Google Assistant, awkward, not as advertised, more wear on the hinge and screen fold... since Jan '24 - still that way in June. Great idea, but someone dropped the ball on this critical function.
