Motorhead Live fast Die old Part 1

Музыка

MOTÖRHEAD are rock's most stubborn survivors. Formed in 1975 by rock legend Lemmy Kilmister, they were once one of Britain's biggest bands. Renowned for being among the heaviest drinking, drug-fuelled womanisers in the business, the band made the 'Guinness Book of Records' as the loudest band ever. In the early eighties they blasted their way to the top of the charts with 'Ace of Spades'. Almost thirty years on, 'Motörhead: Live Fast, Die Old' follows behind the scenes as Lemmy and his band set off on their next U.K. tour. Lemmy is now 57. He still drinks a bottle of bourbon a day and shows little sign of slowing down. But how and why does he keep going? From Lemmy's West Hollywood apartment, crammed with Nazi memorabilia, knives and gothic skulls - to Norwich Student Union, Portsmouth Guildhall and the after gig parties in Newcastle, Manchester and Wolverhampton - the band are booked to play eleven towns in 13 days, living and sleeping on the same bus. Playing the same music, wearing the same clothes and still as controversial as they've always been, can a band really survive without changing?

Motorhead really does have a special appeal that is uniquely broad. I point to one reason: attitude. Metal, punk, and rock'n'roll all have ATTUTUDE in spades, and Motorhead's music and Lemmy pretty much personify attitude. Fundamentally, the attitude communicates "we make fast, loud, raucous music - if you don't like it, fuck off." It's a carefree attitude. It's a wild attitude. It's an attitude that speaks to freedom.

He'd'a made a GREAT prison warden in the southern states! When the convicts saw the speed, and the whiskey on the office desk, we'd know right away this MF'er is a gangster! I say that because he's fair as hell when you get to know him, and he would'nt favor any one particular ethnicity. We'd all be "equally worthless", and Warden Lemmy would still be God! \m/

@smiley satanson, KISS beat them out for a minute. Till Manowar, took it back again, who Motorhead beat on the record. But, I believe a band called Sleazy Joe was the last to hold on record? (they discontinued to hold the record anymore) But, IMO Motorheads was incomparable. I was at that show in Cleveland at the Variety Theater when they broke the record. And it was beyond compare to the rest. The show was not only ear piercing. But, the walls, and ceiling started to crumble and fall on us all. That lead to closing the doors of the theater forever. They might have been beat by a few dB. But, the impact of that Motorhead show stands alone. As far as I'm concerned. To top it off when the fire marshals shut down the show. Me, and a few others kicked back for a minute trying to find a bass, or guitar pick on the floor. And, Lemmy came back to the stage and said to us. Hey, quit playing around with that. Let me make good and buy you boys a beer at the bar next door. So, off we went. Absolute first-class! Classic Lemmy style. Cheers!
