Motorcycles save lives - here's how

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Everything you need to know about the incredible work Two Wheels For Life do to support the mobility of healthcare in Africa. I had the opportunity to travel through rural parts of The Gambia, Africa to see the amazing and impactful work that Two Wheels For Life do. They support the mobility of healthcare in areas where the roads would be considered more like a ‘fun enduro track’ to many of us. Without the 300+ motorcycles and 100+ vehicles many would be left with absolutely no medical help. The sounds of that two-stroke entering their village must be an incredible noise to hear.
As the official charity partner for the Goodwood Festival of Speed and MotoGP, Two Wheels For Life are a charity worth checking out - especially if you are into motorcycles or motorsports!
In this video, I will give you a guided tour of the Riders For Health HQ that is supported by the funds raised by Two Wheels For Life in The Gambia. Key elements include the admin office, workshop, maintenance bar, stores stock department and refuel process, plus showing the Yamaha AGV bikes used by healthcare workers.
As brand ambassador for @two_wheels_for_life I'm on a mission to raise enough money to buy them an additional motorcycle for their Gambian programme.
For many people across Africa the only way of reaching medical care is to walk miles by foot, travel the bumpy roads on a donkey and cart or get pushed in a wheelbarrow. And many do not make it at all. Two Wheels for Life works to ensure healthcare reaches people in the poorest and most remote parts of Africa - using reliable, appropriate vehicles including motorcycles. This is a charity for moto lovers!!
Two Wheels For Life support a fleet of over 400 vehicles, including Yamaha AG 100 motorcycles in The Gambia alone.
They have a zero breakdown policy supported by extensive mechanical training to both the healthcare workers and the network of facilities across The Gambia for vehicles to have regular services. Here, if a vehicle breaks down it means medical support stops and that could quite literally mean a life being lost. They also train them on riding and provide safety gear for a holistic life cycle for use.
Without them, there would be zero ambulances or healthcare vehicles in The Gambia - zero!! That's something I personally want to continue to support and have a dream of utilising my channels to fund raise for an additional bike!
I feel honoured to be here supporting the charity with the incredible work they do, which includes a programme focused on getting women into engineering through their training programme. Girl power!!

I hope you also feel inspired by the work they do. It's an honour to be working amongst such brands and individuals.
Every extra soul who sees this is a step towards greater awareness, support and hopefully donations. "I hope I can use my channels to help spread the word, please help me by sharing" Vanessa ❤️

I remember when i had to call for an ambulance when i got a severe gallstone attack, and it arrived fairly quickly. Before long im in A+E getting well looked after. I took it for granted. Many people around the world arent afforded the same luxury, so what you're doing is highly commendable and i wish you all the best of luck in everything you do when helping those less fortunate.

This is a very serious topic that is well presented. Not everyone has the same infrastructure for health so having a low cost logistics 'bridge' to help out makes a tone of sense. Using two wheels makes a huge amount of sense for not only logistics but for people as well. Having well maintained machinery is paramount so it's good to see this pointed out. Keep up the support for two wheels for life.

17:00 Not a wannabe, Anika is the silly twin! 🤗 A wonderful institution! (Yes, I _am_ talking about Two Wheels for Life here! 🥳) I have been looking at the tracks of rescue helicopters in flightradar24 rather often. I think that a single helicopter could basically cover the whole of the Gambia! An then to think what a co-operation between Senegal and The Gambia could do in this field! Along the borders, European rescue carriers support each others like that. What a beautiful thing this united Europe with much mor transparent borders is!

I commented on this yesterday but it seems my comment disappeared! It's a great project Vanessa! I'm involved with a very similar but much smaller one myself. The Gear Box Bike Shop in Poole, Dorset have a project called Bikes To Africa, I am riding to Gambia with the owner Darren and two others in September. We are taking two bikes down, two guys are flying back, so the local community can use the bikes. I won't put the link up again, maybe that's why my comment was taken down. But people can look it up if they want to help.😊

That's great. Help people in a foreign land so they can have more children that they can't afford and they won't be able to take care of. When you're done with that, if there's still time, maybe you can help disabled British military veterans who are committing suicide because they are so privileged.

Sadly there are thousands of amazing courses for support and I only have so much time to support only so much. I'm very happy with my choice to support the UK school students with my free schools programme and then Two Wheels For Life for international outreach. I'm sure you're also happy with the choices you make for charity support. Everyone has different reasons 🫶

@@TheGirlOnABike A family member of mine used to support "migrants" to the USA. He said, "I advocate for these people," I said, "Why don't you advocate for your own people? How about that?" When I ride my bicycle down to the WalMart parking lot at 2am on a summer night, there are dozens of people sleeping in their cars. They live in their cars. Walmart lets them use their parking lots because it's sort of captive customers. Meanwhile, it was globalism directly or indirectly that put most of those people there. I'm a military veteran and I see the devastation it has wrought on these men. Some of them have PTSD so bad, they just wander around outside alone at night, and many of them self-delete. I'd have to be ... I'm not going to go to another country and put in time and effort and fight for them while right here right now this is going on under my nose. I swear the Western World has some kind of disease that it can't value and take care of its own like everybody else in the world does
