Motorcycle used by Police | R1250RT 🚨

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is a longterm review of the BMW R1250 RT. Motorcycle cops love the BMW R1250 RT and I understand why, classic looks, powerful engine, awesome handling, strong brakes, it’s an all-around motorcycle package and easily could be the best sport touring bike currently in production. A quick overview of my riding impressions on this BMW R1250 RT after logging over 6k miles of canyon carving and weekend trips. This bike has the select package which is all you need in my opinion. MSRP on this bike is $24,290.

Hey JMAN! Great stuff! Keep it up! I'm thinking of getting an RT. I've been a 4 cylinder sport bike rider for the last 25 yrs. Currently on a 09 CBR1000RR . I really love the look actually of the RT, and great handling (lower center of gravity)... though I'm a bit concerned in the sense of liking the tractor like sound, and maybe if there is a bit more vibration at higher RPM. Is that something that you got used to (sound)? What is your experience with reliability? I see folks experiencing issues with BMWs - online complaints. But don't know how true this is. I have Japanese bikes ...and never really an issue. Why did you move from the 2019 to 21? There both a 1250. Right? Thanks!

You can ride it like a sports bike as you did or cruise lazily on the highway with the cruise control set. Either way, the bike impresses you with super handling and dynamic power with just a twist of the hand. Often overlooked in the BMW lineup and over-shadowed by the GS/GSA but if your riding is mostly pavement and you can afford it, you won't regret it. Great review and ride-along. Thanks JMAN.

@ :55, . . . "quick shifter up/down" ?? Another reviewer said the shifting wasn't quick at all!!? On this particular model! But I am seeing how this thing performs as I'm watching it and listening with my own eyes and ears!!! Now THIS is how I would think a reviewer rides a bike in question; with full performance, quick stopping and accelerating, rounding corners at high(er) speeds. I mean really riding it with balls. I thought that's the way one would 'sell' it!

@@JMANmotovlog Not a problem!! Always looking for good reviews on more cost effective AND worthwhile purchases. I've viewed mostly Japanese models (which are excellent) but somehow I'm not completely satisfied with their union of comfort and performance. With automobiles, BMW and Mercedes has done this better than most, as much as I can tell. Japanese brands have mastered the performance (practicality and efficiency) aspect in kind. At my age, I'm looking for that compromise, largely towards the areas of power, comfort and efficiency. I can't imagine another bike doing that than this one. But of course I need to consider the cost, not only the initial but maintenance costs as well. Vids like this one help tremendously with those decisions. Thanks for uploading!!!

My 2020 RT with Hayes brakes leak like a sieve, even after being recalled and new calipers were installed. The 2021 looks like BMW branded Hayes brakes again. You've been warned!!! See my 3 videos of the leaking brakes. 2h3htjt6nm4&t=6s

This is not a long term review, a long term review is to have and ride the bike for at least 12-18 months and report how it is for maintenance, reliability, and overall long term ownership, this was just a long and boring review.

@@JMANmotovlog BMW are used in Europe because they are European and of the import duties making them almost the same price . Italy went o FJR backs elf they high repair costs . I'm in Australia and the Police forces here have tried BMW many time but use Yamaha FJR . The older 1150 and 1200 were more agile but they destroyed clutches at around 12,000-20,000 miles along with many other failures . The Australian police keep the bike themselves generally so when they go to and from work they are "on Duty " so its basically the same rider only on the bike . The BMW was loved for its nibble handling , but hated for its breakdowns and clutch problems . BMW would repeatedly say it was the riders fault , so no warranty and a clutch replacement was over US $ 1,500 . They would have to sell them before 25,000 miles ( around 6-9 months , whereas the FJR they keep for around 55,000miles ( about 12-18 months use ) . Both bikes were sold at auctions and generally get about 35% of there cost .The biggest problem is BMW attitude towards problems like the clutch , its always the rider fault , same with the ABS posted brake system , rear shaft drive bearing problems etc . So owners get screwed at the dealer . BMW have a great feel to them , but leave a very sour taste in a persons mouth when you pay 50-100% more over a Jap bike , suffer huge maintenance costs and the drop in value so fast if you put any miles on them . I personally think BMW should spend more time listening to customer making their bikes reliable and cost affordable to maintain if they want any customers left . I really hope BMW will get their act together and I hope this bike is a great model . Enjoy the ride and if you get a chance try an FJR 1300 you might hate it or love it thats the great thing about bikes choice .
