Congratulations on your best video so far! I first rode over this line a number of times in June 1967 (55 years ago exactly). There was no motorail train then, but the line was worked exclusively by steam locomotives (JZ class 17, 28, and 36) and in those days the line was still busy with heavy freight trains as well as local passenger. I would strongly advise anyone who has not visited this line to do so.....the scenery is truly exceptional. 😊👍👍

Thank you very much for your compliment! I am doing my best to improve the audio of my videos. I will do this line when covered in snow in winter. I am truly passionate about it. The Bohinj Railway really is amazing. There was a steam museum train running the line from Jesenice to Nova Gorica every summer until 2 years ago. This year we are still waiting for the information wether it will run again. When it will be back, I will certainly be on it, with my camera, of course! Thank you for your support!

Thank you too! I am glad that you like the video. It is a great system, the journey on the road through the Bača Valley takes very long time and with the train you get there in approximately 40 minutes.

What a great idea to be able to drive your car onto the train. The U.S. needs to do that.

@garyhigs this is really great. The terrain is hilly and for this same journey you need at least double of time with the car....in the summer, not to mention the winter conditions, then is even more...

This railway is stunning, going through an amazing landscape, also an engineering marvel with so many tunnels and bridges. Visited the end points of it, rafting on Soca was great and the whole area around Bohinjska is beautiful. Plan to return there for some hikes during the next years. Couldn't agree more! Many thanks. I absolutely love both regions, the one around Bohinj lake and Soča Valley. And it is quite a long drive from Ljubljana to Soča Valley and that motorail is a perfect solution. You can get there faster and with one super advantage, you can actually observe the scenery around directly from your car, you don't have to worry about watching the road . Not to mention that during the winter time there are many roads around there closed due to the snow.

Sono l'autore del libro "Transalpina Bohinjska proga". Ho visto prima la versione invernale, molto ben fatto,con tutti i dettagli giusti salvo l'accorciamento del tunnek Bohinj. Quindi devo concludere che questo video è il primo, infatti mancano tutti i detttagli e il viadotto Idrijca è indicato come Ajba, mentre il vero viadotto Ajba si trova venti km. prima fra le stazioni di Kanal e Avče. Questo video comunque è molto bello e si possono vedere particolari del carico-scarico automobili intressanti.

Video je več kot super! Osebno mi ima Španka najlepši glas od vseh dizelskih lokomotiv. Žal me zmoti samo to, da se ne sliši toliko samega motorja. Žal ga zmoti ta nadležen veter, ki piha v mikrofon. Drugače je video res vrh vrha. Moja prošnja pa je, če se seveda da, da ko boš drugič posnel tako vožnjo, da bolj uloviš zvok motorja. Če ne res top video👍👍. Lep pozdrav

Neverjetno lepo. za Unescovo svetovno kulturno dediščino, kot proga Tirano StMoritz. Dajte še opis v slovenščini. Hi ich glaube ich habe den Fehler gefunden. Da wo steht am TV Abonnieren steht , steht auch Qualität und lauter Qualitätseinstellen .Hatte auf Automatisch eingestellt gehabt habe jetzt auf 720 p60 Gestellt ,hat mein Panasonic Fernseher auch 720p60 Scheinbar alles in Ordnung wieder .Das Bild bleibt nicht mehr stehen. Und es leuft wieder gut .Das wollte ich 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍dir nur sagen.

This line is more than a 100 years old, it was inaugurated on 1906, so the infrastructure is old, very well build and due to the terrain there are a lot of bridges and tunnels, hills....all those are the reasons why the train slows down in several places. And yes, you can often see the dear near the lines or even crossing the lines. On several my other videos, if you watch carefully, you can see dears.

Mainly due to landslides (no money for a proper repairworks, so they put 10-20 km/h speed limit... on 18:52 you can se that they are at least doing something to keep the railway operational :)

We are hoping to go in the opposite direction next month, from Bohinjska Bistrica to Most na Soči. Any recommendations? When should we buy our tickets and is it hard to get them?

At the moment the train is quite busy, but I think in September should be better. You can buy the ticket from the train conductor before boarding the motorail. I recommend you to be a bit earlier on the station and enter the queue. It is a beautiful journey. You will definitely enjoy it.

Posebej zanimivi so tuneli in galerije na tej progi. Škoda, da nisem mogell prebrati imen teh tunelov. Je pa posnetek vreden ogleda. Hvala!

Sigurno bom na tej progi naredil še kak video, verjetno pozimi..vsak letni čas prinese čisto drugačno perspektivo na okolico in vožjno. Bom poskusil takrat dodati na video poleg imen postaj še imena tunelov. Lepo nedeljo vam želim!

They do look scary, but they are very strong. Normally the base is stone and iron. And all the construction is very well build. Further on on that railway there is the Solkan Bridge, the worlds largest stone railway bridge on river Soča.

На улице 2022 год а у вас нет светофоров,перевод стрелок в ручную,допотопная сигнализация( семафоры) ,так недалеко и до крушения поездов,как будто живёте в 1900 годах,а ещё Европа,цивилизация.Тонели не освещены,мосты без охраны,где безопасность,не дай бог теракт.
