It's amazing how difficult it is to get motorbike physics right in games. I still think we are only about 80% there in getting it right. As irritating as the vertical stand up was for the previous game, it's actually exactly how a bike would behave when applying the throttle. It would understeer and eventually go vertical. Anyway, I think that the best way to get motorbike games down pat is to learn the track. Once you act intuitively to what's coming up rather than reacting to what's on screen, it makes the handling aspect easier.

I just watched Twist Of The Wrist 2 here on YT. At the 1 hour mark is where it gets really informative. Im a new rider coming off a 66cc China doll, to a 21 CBR 300R. I was looking to see who would comment what you said, as I just learned that today. I would compare learning to ride a moto, to learning to fly, and pursuing faster airplanes if one so desires. Both require knowledge, learning time , skills, and attention to detail.

Not correct. Motorcycles don’t stand up when applying the throttle when leaned over unless you as the rider allows it. The rider is what makes the bike stand up when applying throttle. If you apply throttle and maintain that same lean angle, you WILL maintain that same lean angle. However, when leaned over, and throttle is applied you can, 1. High side with too much throttle, 2. Low side if leaned over two much and you don’t lean the bike up for traction, 3. Throttle out of the corner with extra speed if done correctly. People are under the impression that the bike just stands up when throttle is applied, it does not unless the rider allows it. So the MotoGP 23 physics are incorrect. If I want to keep my bike leaning over when applying throttle, it should stay leaning over. If I’m leaning left and apply pressure to the left the bike should maintain that lean angle, even with throttle.

Graphically this year looks so much more realistic and less game-like IMO, not 'washed out', just better balanced.

Sorry but it's nothing like realistic or believable, put this with a side by side comparison to how the riders shift there body when breaking and cornering and you will see is the truth.

@@arszene4129 yes it is better than last year's motogp 23. The only problem I have with these motor bike games is the way the riders shift there body when breaking and cornering. Have a look at a real bike race and you will see what I'm saying. But yes, it dose look better than last years edition.

Indeed it looks great. Realism of animation is up to debate, but in 4K on a big screen it's amazing. Glad to see that developers are catching up to the possibilities.

I stopped playing motogp 23 soon after i bought it because of the throttle picking up the bike i couldnt stand it im so glad you mentioned it and you made alot of really good points. Ive owned every motogp game and i have no idea what they were thinking with 23. Great video. Subbed

Not lifting the bike up mid-corner is a pretty big feature lol, it's miserable to have to wait until you're straight to get on power.

Real life scenarios for when leaning over and applying throttle, if you keep you body leaning over and maintaining that lean angle, your bike will not stand up, it will maintain that same lean angle as long as you control it. So it’s pretty silly in MotoGP 23 that the bikes would stand up even if you applied pressure on your analog stick to try keep it leaned over.

The bike not picking up when you get on the throttle already sold me, had been getting the MotoGP games since MotoGP 20, 23 was just weird. It felt like you had to have this super light finger on the throttle. Gonna buy 24 because this is gone. That feature in 23 was so bad lol

What controller are you using. I watched GPlaps and he was actually using a wheel. Set at like 240 degrees and used the paddles for gas and brake. I think the last time I played MotoGp was 2004 😮

Im a huge fan of motogp and the games but missed the last game as i just didnt have time. Picked it up yesterday and played a lot of hours already. I’m loving it so far, but i can see if you played last years there isnt huge changes. I think the adaptive a.i difficulty is a great edition and i love the rider market even if the moves can sometimes be… interesting. But the game feels pretty polished and ive not came across any bad bugs etc yet like 6/7 hours played.

I think it's a shame that games that seek constant evolution don't adapt to the Playstation VR2, for example. You see around the world, great riders training in motorcycle racing simulators, even on the monitor or television set. And another launch without taking this step.

Playstation has paused production of the VR2 due to poor sales. A lot of games are skipping VR2 cause they will lose money and time.

You have to turn on 'Combined Braking'. It auto inputs rear brake when it's needed. It an automatic feature. When need some Motocycl SIM peripher gear. I know it wount be full sim, however it would be value added. The ability to use all your fingers and feet to control the bike would be light years ahead of what we have with a game pad.

I've owned every MGP version since the original Namco days. I enjoy the two wheel racing it offers. Used to enjoy SBK, but after 2010, the absence of the game sorta put the kabosh on a positive return when it did return. It just wasn't the same.

one thing you overlooked: the game has motion controls for the ps5 controller so you dont have to steer with the joystick

These games are pretty difficult to learn but when you do, they're very satisfying. I think the physics and controls were best in Ride4, that's still my favorite bike game. Excellent haptics on the ps5 controller. If anybody's interested in getting into these games, I'd recommend Ride4, it's usually very cheap on sale as well!

Regarding criticism of the AI...that part of the video shows someone missing the braking zone...riding nowhere near the racing line and then cutting across the path of other bikes to look for a gap that likely only exists because you have the difficulty set too low , thus allowing you to accelerate through a gap unrealistically with overspeed after a poor corner. Seems a bit harsh to judge the games AI in this scenario. I suspect if you perform more expected race manoeuvres and braking points and race lines..., some of those AI issues may quickly disappear.

F1 series needs Adaptive Difficulty setting.

I welcome the somewhat washed out colors on track, it's far more realistic looking; it's how sunlight actually works.

I playing rims racing right now. And the isle of man tt: ride on the edge 3. Best motocycles games ever made, and arguably, tt3 is the greatest race game ever made. Use to play motogp years ago but doesn't appeal me.

Adaptive difficulty should be standard for every game. Damn how often I have to reload 3 times an Iracing AI session just to get a close race is so annoying. This game uses UE, man every UE game looks like a copy of each other. It is time we get an UE5 lumen racing sim.

I like the adaptive AI, however, I find that they speed up on the last lap and catch up from like 2 seconds back which is irritating. They don’t seem to be a consistent speed throughout the race sadly

i also heard the murder bike and timely where the racer just flew away from his bike. this game should be called murder gp 24.. hahahah

im so getting this game it looks really good

on a side note does anybody have a problem with no force feedback with logitech g29/923 in automobilista 2 after the latest ghub update?

Play first person (helmet). The sense of speed on especially a MotoGP bike is insane. I got scared lol. 3rd person view should NEVER be used in ANY racing game in my opinion.

@@Pchvsky I agree for car racing games. MotoGP 10/11 also has a helmet cam view but it is near impossible to ride proper lines that way. Is it doable in MotoGP 24?

Why are we having a review that's comparing car racing games vs motorcycles racing games. Just don't. There's only 2 "AAA" road motorcycling games. Compare them to last year's game and be done with it.
