A really important point that no one else offers to my knowledge is the free test before you have to purchase the cars. It applies to all cars on a few tracks. It's not a race but you'll get a sense of the handling characteristics, the audio and the look in game.

Over 1,200 hours in RRE and still going strong! No matter which other sim i try, i always come back to it, its got some of the best feeling driving out of any sim out there. The car contact and net code are on point which makes the TCR's excellent to race with

Raceroom is my most played sim. I had over 500 hours in it and owned almost all contents. In this ongoing summer sale I got myself the WTCR 2022 pack and been enjoying it. The cars sound amazing, especially the gun shot like exhaust bangs. Game might look dated against the latest and greatest but it's easy to run. My favorite way to play is to do hotlaps with a handful of AIs on track while listening to youtube podcasts or videos on the background (not an active multiplayer).

I went to see a TCR race last year and the pops and bangs are great. Seems a lot of sims miss that for some reason.

It was my main sim like 2-3 years ago and also bought the big bundel but then it performed worst in VR all of a sudden and now AMS 2 is my main sim. If they bring a big update I will check it out again

Hi. I am an "off-line" mediocre simdriver. I own and love all the sims but RaceRoom has still something special. Always happy to see videos about it

Raceroom does little things most sims dont do ( smoke coming from exhaust when A.I is manual shifting, check engine light coming on when pushing car to the limit, great telemetry support for curbs and antilock breaks when using buttkicker...). Im fine with the graphics. They do need day/night cycle and weather....other than that, i love it

I have hundreds of hours into ACC and AMS2 but Raceroom still brings me back in. I think the physics are about par with ACC. You can play them back-to-back in the same car on the same track and feel right on the pace. It's only about £70 to buy everything which compaired to iRacing is cheap as chips. Hill climb monsters are amazing, DTM 21 (no TC) is amazing, WTCC is amazing!

@@JohnnyJailBait Which drivers are they supposed to be? ACC has nothing to do with real racing. An extremely bad FFB and tire model. Tim Heinemann learned to drive at RaceRoom before he drove in the DTM. When you see simulators in the paddock, Raceroom is usually or often running on them.

I have to agree with everything you said in your video 👍 I use Raceroom only for online racing mostly in private servers / leagues also in vr which is great. All content is free to use up until the 7th of July. So a great time to try. Raceroom needs more love from the KZreadrs 😊

Sorry i need to ask about VR, because the only reason that i didn't purchase RRE is for poor VR compared to rFcator2, AMS2 or ACC ( i think ACC setupped is better than RRE in VR). For me that i don't have monitor anymore is a great limitation, which is your setting? which is your vr setup? Because i don't know how you can play in VR with this title...

For being such a small dev team, they are doing a great work and race room have one of the best communities I have ever seen

a few corrections - racing on ranked servers doesn't need Discord, that's only for Ranked championships and events. it also doesn't put you directly to the game, you still need to find the server and connect to it manually. also this Discord integration is a temporary solution, it will be replaced by a proper in-game sign up system some time later - there is time progression, but it's limited to daytimes only, anything from dawn to sunset. no night driving unfortunately. the devs know about this issue and are looking at how they can improve it (but it's a small team, like 12-15 people total for everything, so don't expect fast changes)

What I truly love about RRE is that they allow us to test out the cars before we even buy, in any tracks (which is also allowed to try from what I remember), giving me plenty of moments to try out how does the car handle in any disciplines ever). Most of my time either for ACC, PC2, AMS2... but I always coming back to RRE every once in a while

Raceroom has a built-in trueforce. Engine rumble is very pronounced on my Cammus 15Nm wheel. Its also one of the best physics of all sims

RaceRoom Experience (or "RRE") was my first ever sim I bought and for which I upgraded to a wheel & rig setup, after I tried it out in an offline event at, what turned out to be, a free offline competition series. I fully agree with everything said in the video. After trying out AC, ACC, Forza, F1, and almost all other racers for whatever reason, RRE always brings me back to pure racing without all the hickups of other modern games. Thinking about cash walls, endless progression systems, no good competitive scheduling for solo and hobby racers,... And in my opinion, the best part is the free or not free competition series. This is also is a huge reason why this game is so popular here in Europe. There is always the possibility to qualify for the actual championship races (which is fairly easy since they always host multiple servers for different skill levels). It really gives that iRacing-y feel of your own, constant progression and skill development, it is, however, pretty competitive if you want it to be, and, you can skip all the organization stuff you have to do for other sim racing leagues/events like LFM or the sort. This is all taken off your shoulders by the devs. Plus you are free to compete in various classes and spotlight cars which are all actively pushed to be at least tried out also by others, too (in the video a random Praga Comeptition was shown quickly, do you get something like this in ACC or iRacing? Hardly. ;) ) And one more thing about whether it is worth to pick it up in 2024 - absolutely! It is not commonly known but in Germany, RaceRoom is backed by a big franchise of real life Sim Racing Centers (so called "RaceRooms") all across the country. And those are all backed by the real deal KW automotive who generally launch various real life events on this platform. All of them are equiped with and apparently also sponsored by mostly Fanatec. Therefor the platform will be safe to also "invest" some of your change for some cars and stuff. Not to mention compatibility like a charm with all the major racing wheel brands. All the setup will be done by the software itself, including custom FFB and steering angle setup for each and every car.

I remember when it started as a brick and motor "store" but it was more like a gaming lounge where they had sim setups for you to pay for a few hours and they had weekly tournaments...there was one in my city and it was so cool because at the time the other gaming lounges were closing up and this had just opened at the mall loved it

Day One Raceroomer from New Zealand here and part of a "down-under" community that pretty much races Raceroom exclusively....R3E is surely underrated - sure the graphics look a tad dated, but it plays very well, actually SUPER well...the net code is probably one of the best out there which allows drivers to race close n clean....(not always I will admit) I've often said that one letdown for us down-under racers is the lack of Aussie / Kiwi tracks. If KW Studios grabbed some of our local tracks more southern hemisphere players may get involved? Like most I've tried plenty of other "must have" sims - but I always find myself coming back to Raceroom for my simracing fix.... Be cool to see more coverage of raceroom on this channel....

Raceroom was my first real sim. I still play it today. It was also where I took part in my first big race, if you will with the 2024 2hrs of Bathurst.

a few more corrections (can't post it in one comment) - Premium pack costs even less than you said (there's an additional discount when you pay through Steam). if you buy in-game currency packs (vRP) separately, they have an even bigger discount. but you then also need to pay some more for Ferrari 296 which is not included in Premium pack unfortunately (apparently because of some Ferrari licensing deal) - prices for single items in the store (car and tracks) are usually higher than what you said. but packs offer quite significant discounts, so single item prices aren't that important, you should first consider buying packs and only after that think of buying items one-by-one

Yes. Raceroom was my 1st racegame when i got a wheel. Its awsome but want to multiplayer and sadly the population isnt there or spread too thin

It was my go to sim, then something changed in the FFB and it now i can't play it longer than for about 10 mins till i'm angry.

the change came with the new tyre model, I think. I find the new FFB much more intuitive and gradually giving you info as you get to the limit and over. It is not a sudden snap like in soome other sims. Only downside is that it heats up my wheelbase a lot more but still within limits :)

I totally agree that raceroom is an excellent sounding Sim, one of the best by far. I've liked R3E every time I've tried it but ultimately, I think it's in a bit of an awkward market position that stops me from buying in. For multiplayer I have iRacing and for ai racing I have AMS2 (which has weather, day night and better graphics), which doesn't leave me with a ton of reason to play raceroom, even though I think it's pretty good. If I was from Europe and wanted a cheaper alternative to iRacing, I could see its appeal.

It's easily one of the best sims out there as far as the actual driving is concerned. It just feels good and intuitive overall to hop in a car and hit the track. I just wish they had more street cars to drive.

IMHO. The best sounding, the best FFB and, arguably the best tyre model. I understand your thoughts on the graphics but I honestly prefer the graphics on this Sim above all others. The track detail is superb. Yeah, I like RR a LOT.

Raceroom is the Best Sim in my Opinion. Surely not so good looking but the feeling the FFB gives you is superb!

I've enjoyed Raceroom since the beginning, and even before when they were Simbin. Going back to GTR2. I recently bought the MX5 cup and have had a blast in those cars.

I love Raceroom. Bought the full package about 2 years ago, just to show my gratitude and hope it'll evolve even more. Always coming back to see that not many people are playing it. Which is a bummer! Great physics and VR works pretty good.

Raceroom is probably the best bang for your buck race sim I know of. Wish I stuck with it over AMS2

Raceroom and LMU have the best FFB and tire model. Raceroom also has so many great classes and cars and a wide selection of tracks. My absolute favorites are the DTM 2016 and the WTCR

Hey Em. Great review. Agree with near all your points. Definitely underrated. Been playing since March and I'm all in already 😂. Your Oz dollar conversion might be a bit out. 98 euro is about 170 Oz I think? Making it a little expensive considering the age of the title. Strangely I note that it performs worse than AMS2 on my PC in same res. Typically get between 40 to 100 frames. AMS2 gives me 90+ consistently. Talk would suggest this is a directx9 thing. Anyway, it could use an engine change. I see they are hiring programmers, and a recent podcast from the developers confirms this is on the to do list.

Another game that is an hidden gem is RaceLeague, little indie game made by one developper but it is a really good simcade with a track editor, all the tracks you race are made by the players. I really recommend it

I want to use R3E but the fact it won't run triples with out surround is a no go.

I went back to RRE after watching the vid and I have to say, I'm back enjoying it. Otterhud is fantastic and it looks like they have got rid of the generic horrible dash as each car I've raced with the last couple of days has had a decent dash. Great physics and sounds and RRE is still good. I love how easy it is to set up a race against the AI inc multi class.

It's funny. I've had trouble with RaceRoom for quite some time but lately as a NEWB I've improved and graduated to higher end gear so now I can keep up in Raceroom. And I can't stop playing it! I'm really impressed. It's fast and a genuine blast. It's not free. I own all the cars n tracks. I just landed that BMW sale. It's extremely reasonable. I hope they create more tracks and upgrade upgrade upgrade!! I'm addicted. Thanx for the Vid!

I love R3E, but it does not seem to work properly on my system. The first session I start runs with the steering wheel rotation works as put up in set up. Starting the next session it's always full 900 degrees. A little nerve wrecking...

I've played this a few times over the years and like it's physics and the fact it looks good as well. It also looks like it'd be worth it to pay for all the content in one hit if it's around the $100 aud mark given how much you'd be paying for other race sims and all their content anyway.

They’re called KW Studios now but Simbin games sucked me into sim racing. I played GTR, GTR2, GT Legends (my favorite), and RRE. They just have a feel to it that felt authentic. Even when playing singleplayer, their AI was so ahead of its time. I would beg for that level of AI to be in racing games today.

I think its also AMS 2 ❤

Great reminder Emily of how good RRE really is! I personally like the simplistic menus, track selection and of course the cars. I do hope it does go to a more advanced graphic engine though.

RRRE was the first sim I ever used. I wanted to make sure I really would enjoy sim racing before spending a load of money on a DD wheel and all the expensive sims. Plus they do free weekends where you get access to everything for free. Needless to say I loved it, so I spent all the money on everything but I still have R³E in the rotation. Recommended.

Picked it up 2015 and played it to death until i picked my SC2 pro in 2019. The car rotation was a pain so i gave up. RF2, ACC, AMS2, LFM became the go up until today. Might re-install and retry since R3E was the most beloved and played. New sim racers should at least try it as our sim racing simulators are indeed limited compared to other games. Cheers

It used to be one of my favourite sims. The problem I have with this is that they ruined the ffb feel I used to get on my Thrustmaster wheel (T300 at the time). I even tried it on the TGT-II, and it's still off. A lot of people reported an improvement in their ffb feel after that big updates a few years ago, but most of them reported using a DD. I honestly wish if we could choose the older version of the ffb before the update, but I'll be getting a DD anyway, so I'll give it another shot.

I bought all the content during last year's summer sale, using their VRPs. A voucher with enough VRPs for the all-in-one pack was about 50-60 euros. I raced ranked for like 6 months. Now I only race in a community and spend most of my time on iRacing.

Raceroom driver here! My only camparison is with assetto corsa, and i always come back to raceroom, it has vibes and i feel like i am in a car! AI needs to be fixed, graphics needs to be fixed, but physics is really good!

I've spent more hours in this game just messing around offline, creating my own championships and LAN with my son. I raced a fair bit online too in the casual racing but for me, I have all the cars and tracks because I like what they stand for. I like that they don't double-dip, charging subscription and then again for cars/tracks. It is free to play, with the option to buy more things they've been busy working on. It seems fair to me.

BMW M1 Pro is my favorite. I miss this car in iRacing.

The only annoying thing is the page that comes up after you make your track selection (what to know) and it stays on for a long time, Esc button won't work you have to wait until you get the press any key command, so annoying!!

Those prior gen DTM cars are wesome just like you say. I find them to be like a hybrid GT/F1 car

I want to love RR but i just cant find a good ffb profile that tells me what the car is doing at low speeds. High speed is great i can feel the limit can almost precatch slides before they start. Low apeed tho i get no info at all. Im havent to make adjustment off of what im seeing on screen instead of feeling in a wheel

You probably need at add some minimum force at the bottom. This can help enhance the smaller forces that you may have a hard time feeling at low speed.

I've gone through all the simulations and racerooom is the one that gives me the most immersion and the most fun. This game is clearly underrated!

Every now and then these kind of videos pop up, reminding us that RaceRoom isn't dead and that is a well underrated sim. But has anything changed? The menu looks dated and clunky - sometimes there is a input lag making it so annoying to just setting up a session. Also the wheel rotation are not 100% matching. RaceRoom needs an needs an overhaul, refurbished re-design and then it can maybe live again

R3E is my main sim, recently have been a lot on LMU, but R3E is still the best for me, despite lacking features and the devs beeing basically quiet about everything, the ffb and physics always makes me return, no other sim feels as real.

Great title with some great content, but is sadly missing a lot of features that exist in other modern titles. It's time to either build new code for the current engine or move to a new one.

Used to love this game until I recently got triples and I cannot get it to run on all 3 monitors and I've emailed them for help and just get ignored so until the triple screen support is fixed I've stopped playing it for now which is a shame.

Trying it out now while it's still on sale which allows you test all of the content, it is impressive and definitely does some things better than the other titles but I feel it can be a bit hit & miss regarding how amazing certain cars feel to instead some feeling flat & uninspiring. One thing I notice no one talks about is the loading times compared to the other titles...it's absolute a** & quite a negative for me & my situation

Raceroom is great, I love to play the game, but still lacking day/night cycle and rain.

I enjoyed RaceRoom during the past 2 weeks and I think it's worth it to buy the content after all. I will try to get the Premium pack

Isimotor 2.0 is still the best. ACC with UA4 has a lot of bling but misses the physics and ffb fidelity isimotor gives. I had a 3 hour P1-P2-GTR3 75 cars ai field fun racing the Radical P2. The AI is good enough (no sim does that well but R3E is the best together with AMS1. Sound is good, decent ffb. Only graphics I miss are in depth tarmac graphics. But yeah, I play R3E above ACC and rF2

I can’t get my wheel to work on it properly and I have Moza.

Out of all my racing games, I have the most hours on this one. The sounds are the best, but the A.I. drivers have punted me off the road many times.

Raceroom is an excellent SIM. underated is correct. The force feedback and driving feel are phenomenal. The selection of cars and tracks available are equally as good. The AI and custom championship tool work well. Highly recommend everyone play it more often please!

Did F4 @ Norisring 60 minutes just yesterday. Don't rely on public ranked servers, find communities to race with.

Definitely a fan but sadly I'm in NZ and can't find an online race to save myself

It is really good and has a few "unusual" circuits you don't always see everywhere. I'm a fan! Would love more oval content for it and flag rules for said ovals, but throwing cars around the Norisring is a thrill

RR is great sim. Great driving experience, great sound, unique great cars, great AI. Best non-rally sims - RR and iR.

Easily the best sounds in sim racing. Driving the R8 or Porsche Carrera Cup in this game is audio heaven

I got rid of it because the load time is unbearable. Plenty other great sim racers load way quicker.

I used to love the game, but the ranked races are not competitive enough, thats why i jumped into iRacing

There are simply not enough American players during CST peak times. That’s the only reason I don’t play it, most leagues are during Europe time zones.

Good game. Have good FFB, good physics. The graphics are not the best, but makes the game run greatly smooth. The main problem is that the game is "empty".

I would play Raceroom a lot more but it is dead in my timezone, its frustrating because its a much more enjoyable sim to play than the more "popular" racing sim on the market. Maybe a lot of people yust don't relize other sims do have ranking now. If you are listening... Raceroom, LMU, Rf2 spend some money on advertising and let people know what you have!
