Motocross Riding with Heart Rate Monitor - Dec 31, 2021

I made a video showing my Polar Verity Sense Heart Rate Monitor while riding my bike. Its a short video, but I was surprised at how quickly my HR got near max (for my age, 58 theoretically should max around 162). I rode at max for most of the session, but didnt seem overly tired, but couldn't push any harder. True meaning of riding like an old man I guess.

    Interesting video considering moto trainers stress HIIT workouts to improve performance citing that the heart rate will rise and fall during a moto. But yours climbed steadily and stayed up. I believe mine does the same. It never seems to come down once I get going. I’m 46 so it could be an age issue. Anyways cool video.

    I don’t see anyones HR rising and falling much during a moto, or at least not if you are pushing the whole moto. I’ve been able to see where I start getting tired my HR and is at it’s highest. Agree if training you should mix up speed work with longer motos to achieve the desired result. Similar to sprints vs running a 10k.
