Motocross Action's 2021 450 Shootout

Спорт

#motocross #dirtbike #offroad
Motocross Action's 2021 450 Shootout featuring all 7 manufacturers' models. This video includes the Suzuki, Honda, KTM, GasGas, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Husqvarna. We spent countless hours on each bike to find all their character flaws and weaknesses before you spend your money on a new motorcycle. We felt that it was only right to wait for the arrival of the 2021 Suzuki RM450 and GasGas MC450F before doing our shootout. A little surprise for our viewers is in this video! Not only do we give you our 2021 Bike of the Year but MXA also delivers a winner in Best Vet Bike, Best Pro Bike, Best Working Class Bike and Best Bargain Bike. We know there are a lot of shootout videos out there and we're glad you've stuck around this long to watch ours. Motocross Action Magazine hopes to deliver the most detailed shootout in the industry with true honesty and detailed information. Sit back, relax, and enjoy what we have put together. You might be surprised at which model we picked for Bike of the Year!

    It's funny to read the negative comments about the MXA yearly shootouts, they are the only ones that actually give you a good broad view of the bikes. They do this by riding the bikes for months and putting different guys from Pro's to everyday weekend racers on the bikes, I can vouch for this because I see them doing this all the time if you have a question about a particular bike they pretty much will have the answer.

    Wait. So the KX weighs 234 and the CRF is at 233, yet the KX is 4 pounds lighter than the YZ and the CRF? Isn’t 233-234 equal 1 pound HEAVIER? Then later it is mentioned that the KTM (or husky) is like 14 pounds lighter yet the they weight 224 and CRF is 233, 224-233 appears to be 9 pounds, NOT 14 pounds. Are you guys looking at a data sheet from 2020 yet showing numbers on screen from 2021 or WTF is up with all the mistakes?

    Awesome reviews!! Love the specific and very detailed feedback (whether folks agree with it or not), very thoughtful and seems genuine. Also, incredibly helpful! My only reco would be for next time, not only to mention why win versus why not, might be to further elaborate on your opinions on what type of rider or rider purposes each bike may excel or be hindrance. For example, I own ‘21 YZ450F - bike is def big/tall, wide, loud, etc., but I’m 6’ 4” and 220 lbs and the bike was my prefered given size and I know everyone mentions noise from airbox...I must be deaf, because it doesn’t bother me a bit. Actually kind of helps in some ways hear wear engine is at in rev/powerband.

    Kawasaki has one and half horsepower less than the other brands so this is a reason to " not win" the shootout" HONDA had 60 horsepower the last couple of years. It was too powerful and that was a reason " not to win". MXA can always find the "reason" for the Japanese to lose or for the Austrian bikes to win. If Austria was making the shootout it would be less bias

  • @pauldayton5285

    @pauldayton5285

    3 жыл бұрын

    The Austrian bike's always win because THEY'RE BETTER ! Backward engine's (yzf) , dual exaust (crf) , outdated everything (rmz). Thank God Honda ditched the dual exaust but how long did it take for Honda to put the map switch on the handlebars? Hydraulic clutch? The weight of the bike's is huge too , none of the Japanese bike's are even close to how lightweight the Austrian bike's. Let's not forget the CNC machined triple clamps , CNC machined hubs , Brembo brakes , push button on the fly traction control , air box that requires zero tools to take off & the WP air fork that gives you way more adjustability than the spring forks. The Japanese need to step their game up , Honda is the only brand out of all of them that I see going in the right direction.

    I have a 2020 450. The brake pedal, where the clevis gets attached to, you can grind/cut off a MM or 2 of the threads.(9:43) I added 30cc of oil to each fork.(9:45)(Michael Lindsay recommended it in his video of the 2020) I went down to a 240mm rear rotor(order 2018 450 OEM caliper mount and a 240mm rotor, that's all you need).(9:53) I never had the engine overheat with regular radiator fluid in it, but after the first few hours, I did go to Engine Ice cause I'm sponsored by them.(9:55) After the allen head bolts rounded off in the fork guards, I switched them to the traditional 8mm bolts like the 18 & earlier models. the air filter is a bit of a PITA. and it gets dirt/mud caught behind the case saver for the chain(with or without the black plastic protector.) for the slide and guide, I don't feel they wear out to quick. I'm only on my second set with 56 hours on it. Order the Acerbis replacements, they're less than half the price of OEM.

    Questions... Will a KTM or GasGas subframe bolt directly onto the Husky? I've read and heard reports about the composite subframe on the Husky being somewhat brittle and damaged in crashes and tip overs. If what I've just typed is completely unfounded and garbage, let me know.... Did you eventually get the 2021 RMZ and try the ECU tuner? If you did, just wanted to know your impression(s) and if it could change to RMZ power characteristic (ie. add some more top end) without destroying the low to mid power that Suzuki is known for. I realize the Suzuki is dated is so many ways and it's age and lack of innovation may make the tuner completely irrelevant. I'm just curious. Thanks for the review. As always, it is excellent and well worth the wait. Looking forward to your next one.

You are free to buy or like whatever flavor you like. Thank you MXA for all your hard work as usual. The best bike always wins. This big 4 have been playing catch up for years now and they just can't get there... yet. If they would learn nd ditch the aluminum frame maybe they could touch KTM, GAsGas or Husky. Buyers are so brainwashed into aluminum. It's the cool factor and that's all some care about.
