Mothership 1e Core Set (half) Unboxing. Also some thoughts on Mothership Solo Tools

Ойындар

After completely forgetting that I ever order the Mothership 1e core set Tuesday Knight Games, lo and behold this little treat shows up on my porch and I couldn't be more stoked. I was so excited in fact, that I ripped off half the cellophane before I remembered I have a YT channel.
I was also going to talk about some of the solo tools for mothership, of course mentioning one of my all-time favorites Thousand Empty Light by Alfred Valley, but then I was a little disappointed when I looked further.
I'm about to fall asleep on my computer desk so I will add links tomorrow. Here is the kickstarter for the core set at least: www.kickstarter.com/projects/...
My gosh I got tired so fast.

Yesssss I LOVE Mothership and just started putting together a solo campaign for it myself. Would love to see you try to run it solo some day.

I was listening to/watching Man Alone before it was cool. And I will still be watching him after it is cool.

Lucky then that emptiness is form and form is emptiness. The glass is neither half full, nor half empty. It is full. Half is water, half is air. This will make your lotus of a thousand petals bloom 🙏 Also, I backed this for the digital version, because of stellar reviews and FOMO. But I will probably never play it if I’m being honest 😂

I think I would add a bit of color to those standies to help them stand out

Perhaps, but b&w kind of fits the esthetic. OTOH, the advantage of the rectangular cut means you can make each one with a different color, so even in a swarm attack, you know 'my mini is the green one'.

I have multiple Solo-Rules by PPM (creator of Lone Star) - I like it that he tries to bend the solo tools towards the mechanics of the individual game (I like what he did for the Alien Solo Rules - available via his newsletter) but yeah, sometimes I have my issues with them too and if you already have solid tools they might not deliver enough bang for your buck. For someone without tools I find most of the ones I own useful and have replaced at least the oracle rules with roles more in line with the original game mechanic.

I appreciate you talking about lone star honestly. Just putting your feelings about it out there is important and you did it without being negative. But where'd the outro go!?

The size scale of the books makes me think of Original D&D, there was a time when the players got all they needed was a 34 page booklet. Definitely prefer games in the saddle-stitched zine zine

Suddenly you feel the musty, slime-covered cavern grow colder. It sends aches into your bones as if they could snap by being moved. You are frozen in space and time, the room physically grows darker and you can no longer see anything but a dark, faintly glowing silhouette hovering over you. It whispers, ever so hauntingly, “…that which has been set into motion… it can never be stopped. It will plague and pester. It will eat away at your very soul. The summoning… the chanting… the yearning… it must be fed. Spill the blood required, there you will find reprieve, if but only for a moment.” Then the presence vanishes and the room returns to the way it was before. You can feel your body again, you stand quietly for a moment and ponder your next move…

Great channel. Though you need to really volume balance your intro bit with the rest of your videos. It’s way too loud in comparison.
