I 100% recommend her first "successful" TV audition that helped her break the internet. Sorry for the length of this comment, but there is a lot information to give. This performance took place on September 25, 2021 on a new televised Russian vocal competition called the “ShowMaskGoOn!”. Diana Ankudinova was only 18 years old during this performance. This competition was held over a period of nine weeks, one episode per week. Diana competed against 8 other professional singers who were also members of the judging panel, and for each individual performance they awarded judging points to each other. When not performing Diana was also a member of this judging panel which brought the contestant total to 9 individuals and each singer was required to performed a different song each of the nine weeks, and each person had to use different genres and different styles of music. To answer a very commonly asked question about Diana’s voice. At age 13, in 2017, her vocal range was measured from a low of D3 to a high of A5, a solid Alto range, but still very low for a 13 year old girl. In 2021, 5 years later at age 18, during this “ShowMaskGoOn” performance, Diana’s vocal range was again measured, an now her functional vocal range measures from a low of C3 (male tenor range) to a high of B♭5 (Mezzo Soprano range). The improvement to her upper range is also on full display during the middle part of this performance. But it's not just about how low or high she can go, it's the exceptional quality of her tone in her upper and lower registers, and her ability to transition seamlessly between both her lower, mid, and upper registers. It's in her timbre, the roundness, fullness, and depth of her voice. Coupled this along with her ability to create, access, and use an enormous amount of resonance further defines Diana as a Dramatic Contralto which is the deepest, darkest, and most powerful contralto voice type, and a Dramatic Contralto is the rarest of the rare contralto voice types. The depth and power of her full Dramatic Contralto chest voice is on full display during the final section of her performance. So the question becomes, how does she do it? Without actually scoping her vocal tract while she is producing these low notes to actually see what is or is not happening, the general conciseness from many vocal professionals seems to attribute unique vocal anatomy. Diana’s vocal folds, (vocal cords), appear to be longer and thicker than the vast majority of female singers. Her larynx (voice box), also appears to be larger, and her oral cavity (mouth) is larger, plus her pharynx (throat), similarly appears to be longer than other female singers. This combination of vocal anatomy gives Diana the ability to produce the low, deep, rich, full sounds that along with her unique tone quality makes her stand out, but without actually scoping her vocal track, there is no way to be 100% sure. To conclude, midway during Diana’s performance the judge on the top row who stands is a well known Russian opera tenor, Yusif Eyvazov from Azerbaijan, who was invited to be a guest judge. Yusif is also married to the world famous Russian opera soprano Anna Netrebko. At the end of Diana Ankudinova’s performance, Diana receives a standing ovation from all her fellow competitors. A fellow judge and competitor, Julia Parshuta, the blond woman standing in the center row dressed all in red is well-known in Russia as a contemporary singer. Julia Parshuta looks totally shocked at the end of Diana's performance, puts both hands on top of her head with a look of total bewilderment and disbelief. Finally, the 9 week competition concluded on November 20, 2021, with Diana Ankudinova being awarded the most judging points from the other competitors over the 9 weeks, and was declared the winner of the series of nine programs.

You ladies have the greatest reactions. Im so happy i discovered her last year, I can’t get enough of her. No, Diana’s voice is not AI generated, its very legit! Diana comes from a terrible background. Her birth mother physically abused her with the intent to kill (drowning her and sitting on her so she couldn’t breath). She was sent to an orphanage at the age of three after she was found abandoned at a bus stop with a broken collarbone in freezing temperatures (-30 celcius I heard). She was between four and four and a half adopted by Irina (she worked with the orphanage as a masseuse), whom she calls her real mother. Because of the abuse Diana had a speech delay and so she went on singing lessons. A family friend told Irina that Diana had a unique timbre in her voice at such a young age. You will be getting overwhelmed with Diana’s fans and supporters. We literally call the Internet looking for new reaction videos of first time viewers to her performances. It becomes an addiction to see people react for the first time we also envy the fact that you are just getting started With her performances as we have already seen them over and over and over. You will become overwhelmed. Once you begin to dive into her amazing talent first, I’m a say she is not just a singer. She is a performer. You will fill the song she sings, and to understand why do a background research on who she is and how she became to be what she is today, it will be well worth your time. This is her voice it is not AI generated and she has the greatest female voice on Earth, you will never hear anything like her again, she is a unique polyphonic Dramatic Contralto with a huge range, her range is bigger than the one she demonstrated in this video. Diana is extremely young, 18 years old on the video you just watched and currently she is 20 years old, she is Russian and she has a huge number of songs to listen to, every single one just as magical as the one you heard. She is at the start of her career but she is already known all over the world because there is no other voice like hers, she has won numerous vocal competitions, more than 50 of them till the age of 16. Oh trust me, a lot of us fans could write forever about Diana, but I did think your banter was entertaining to watch as well! Her name gets easier to say the more you hear it (yes, it is a Russian name as she is from Russia 🇷🇺) Some basic information to know: - She was 18 years old in the video and is now 20, her 21st birthday will be at the end of May this year - She started singing at the age of 5 as a way to improve speech problems resulting from abuse in her early childhood. Her unique voice was noticed and she hasn’t stopped singing since! - This performance took place on a television contest and is only one of many that she has participated in (and won) over the years. Her real “breakthrough” performance would probably be Dernière Danse at 14 years old There’s a lot more to say, but I have no doubt that others in the comments will fill in the blanks for me. Thanks for your reaction and welcome to the fabulous world of the Queen of Goosebumps (Yeah, that is her nickname) Diana Ankudinova fans! This is a rabbit hole! I liked your reaction and I'd like to share some of my perspective for this performance with you, in hope to enrich our thoughts together. Firstly, I think you shouldn't focus on whether there are pitching errors or not because this is a TV show and before airing these videos sound engineers apply pitch correction or some other "cleaning" tools to some extent. This is the case in nearly all TV competition shows. Be it "The Voice", "AGT", "X factor" etc. It's all the same. What you should focus on are 1) Diana's unique timbre, tone - there is no one out there like her. All TV channels, producers, sound engineers have these advanced sound tools but there has been no performance like this ever. This is the uniqueness of Diana. 2) Diana is a dramatic contralto, which is the rarest female vocal classification, but on top of that her voice is very warm-rich-resonant because of rare vocal physiology. You will never hear those low notes with such warmth from any female singer 3) Some people will come and say "If I have not seen her I'd think a man was singing" but this is a very amateurish comment. After hearin, knowing Diana's sound you would never mistake it with any man/female because it is so distinctive. It can not be easily classified as "masculine" because it's very warm, silky and yet sometimes breathy. 4) Another thing to focus on is of course her wide range and you mentioned that.

98 Prozent iher Fans sind aus Russland. Darüber hinaus wird sie es auch nicht schaffen. The Russian Bear. So unfassbar Seelenlos diese Stimme und auch kaum irgendeine Variation. Nur dieser kehlige Gesang, was nichts schönes hat oder man öfter hören wollte. Gut , das man sie nie International hören wird. Auch hier auf KZread ist sie langsam verblasst. 😊Я могу ошибаться, но когда смотришь Западные фильмы о любви (или слушаешь песни) создается такое впечатление что сценаристы и постановщики при съёмке исходят исключительно из следующего: любовь приносит только прекрасные, положительные эмоции. Любовь это красивое ухаживание, это цветы, конфеты, подарки, комплименты, поцелуи... Вообщем всё очень красиво, мило и сладко. Но ведь это далеко не так!!! Разве вам не знакомо чувство: вы любите человека, вы по нему буквально сходите с ума, а он в ответ к вам холоден, он вас не замечает, он вас игнорирует. И от этого вам больно, очень больно. Дв, любовь не всегда приносит радость и счастье. Иногда это боль, которую едва выносит душа. И это понимаешь, когда видишь последнюю часть песни. Greetings from Scotland! Mum, you got closer on age! 18yo here! Oh, and Diana is Russian. Believe me ladies, you have just viewed the tip of a huge iceberg! Diana is 20yo currently but I've been following her career since she was around 13yo. Diana is a natural Dramatic Contralto so the lower registers are her comfort zone but she has increased her range even more since this. She also naturally sings with polyphonic overtones so it sounds like many voices at the same time! Any song, any genre, in any language, Diana can sing it and improve it! You need a little back story to understand what helped "create" this unique phenomenon:- Diana's birthmother had multiple miscarriages but when Diana came along, she seemed to hate her. She verbally and physically abused her, trying to drown her and belittle her. It all culminated when (at 3yo) a passing relative found her in her home with a broken collarbone and several other injuries. She went for the authorities who removed Diana from her birthmothers care and placed her in an orphanage. For almost 2 years Diana never gave up hope and she knew that she was meant for something better. (This story is in her Wikipedia entry) Finally her new mother (Irina Ponik, who worked as a masseuse there occasionally) Signed her adoption papers and took her home. Also Rechenka a Russian folk story is a world class performance on the You ARe Super competition for disadvantaged youth. Again all mind boggling and tons of other songs from jazz to ballads and fast fun pop. This is another life long prodigy contralto with polyphonic magic. She’s been touring all over Russia so theres a lot of fresh uploads. Because of the depth and warmth if her incomparable timbre you will do well to play her on good speakers with good bass as her voice becomes a full body sonic immersion. Enjoy ❤

You have a wonderful journey ahead of you, TWM. I love Diana's performance of "Human" and think you might enjoy that one next. But every time Diana sings, there is always something incredible happening in the performance. For early work, you could watch "Rechenka", a Russian folksong she performed at age 14. You will be blown away. Or "Wicked Game" at age 15. For a more contemporary performance, you could watch "The Day You" live performance with Diana and her producer/songwriter Brandon Stone at a Russian New Year's celebration just last December. And if that isn't enough, I recommend Diana's original composition "Revelation" (I suggest the "mood video" version of it). This young woman is a gift to the entire planet. Have fun, ladies! (And, btw, every note she ever sings is pitch-perfect). (Alternatively, to have the full experience of watching this remarkable girl's progression, you might start with her performances on "You Are Super"... a Russian talent contest created by the Russian music czar, Igor Krutoy. She won this contest two years in a row between the ages of 14 and 16. The chronological order of recommended performances from this progression are: Rechenka, Wicked Game, and Human. Regarding the alleged use of filters and computers at Diana's speech. So, in the upper right corner of the video, it says in Russian that this is a "live sound". I don't know how it is in the West, but in Russia, if it is indicated that this is a live performance, then this is a live performance, without any effects and deception.
