I can relate too. The moment we got married, my husband's MIL was living with us. It wasn't as harsh as the MIL in this video but the insults were still there about how inexperienced and incompetent I was as a wife. The hardest part is knowing my husband couldn't stand up for me and I always stood up for him with my own family. We had to fly her to her hometown and spent a lot of money just to move her. It was really hard. Guiltily, I still blame her for putting the first few months of our marriage in total shambles. Because of her, we never got to that honeymoon stage. It felt like we skipped it. *sigh*

My mom was in a situation like this when I was younger. My dad's mom would always criticize her for the way my mom raised me (specifically my grandmother did not like having my mom instill Filipino morals into me and preferred the white-American morals and parenting.) she would also verbally and emotionally abuse my mom in front of me and my dad saying things like, "A woman like you of your ethnicity should not be with my son." and "Don't you think you are too old and weak to be a mother?" Like what I mentioned, my dad would just sit there and watch or say to my mom why won't she just agree with his mom. My mom always defended my dad from her family especially since my dad's morals and beliefs my mom's family did not agree with. When my mom tried to talk to one another when my mom brought the situation up, he responded, "I don't see anything wrong with what I am doing." If only my family life was like the end of that video. :(
