Her mother's job is to be there to support her daughter's choices for the wedding, not take over. It was a good thing she took her out of the wedding. I am glad at the end she realized what she did was wrong and made up for it. This was a great lesson. Dhar, you did a great job with this.

I wish my mother knew that. I didn’t get a say in anything except my cake. But when the cake came, I was upset and disappointed. It wasn’t what I asked for. My mom changed everything. Behind my back. I hate roses, I talked to our florist about Lillie’s. The florist came and there was buckets of roses. My mom didn’t get the wedding of her dreams, she definitely used my wedding to get what she always wanted. I divorced a few short years later, and I married my 2nd husband that I met while we were both working on a small cruise ship in Alaska.

Moms get controlling because in the old days, it was the bride's parents who did everything for them. Moms get hypersensitivity about how they look as the ones paying for the wedding because it's their reputation on the line. Moms need to stop ranting about how it's not as they did things at their wedding. The bride and groom should always have the final vote.

I know my mom will never do this, thankfully. My partner and I have spoken about how we want our dream wedding to be, and we agree that we don't want anything to be traditional. And my parents are perfectly fine with that as long as my dad gets to walk me down the aisle.

I never knew you needed something old for your wedding. I only attended one wedding in my life although I did get invited in a lot but couldn’t make it cause of covid only our relatives attended it. I attended my aunts wedding in 2019 I was the flower girl. 😌
