Kante is a machine

Lampard had a lot more to his game then just goals, a lot of what Chelsea did going forward went through or finished with him. Don’t think he’s the best ever, but everyone always stops on the goals. Micah’s had a shocker 😂

It’s only Chelsea fans who think Lampard was great. Lampard was very good but he doesn’t belong in this conversation.

Alonso was hugely impactful but was only there for a short period compared to the guys in this list. I guess he didn’t get the PL and only the CL trophy

1-Scholes 2-Lampard 3-KDB 4-Keane 5-Gerrard 6- Viera 7- Fabrigas 8- Yaya Toure 9- Silva 10- Kante/Makelèlè Im sorry but you can't be the greatest PL midfielder of all time if you haven't won the league even just once , it's illogical to put Gerrard at one , top 3 I understand because how iconic he was and the criteria should be the influence of the player ( assists, goals and leadership ), trophies, longevity and how many years they actually played in the PL and also Giggs is puzzling because,he was so versatile and played between that left wing & midfield throughout his career and was a great assist provider,so if we consider him as a midfielder everyone's list should look different.

It was only today I watched Jon obi Mikel pick scholes and say what most other people say about him being the only English midfielder to get into the best club team of all time in Barcelona 2007-2011 scholes couldn't do what Gerrard did absolutely but neither could xavi or iniesta modric or kroos. Are you trying to suggest Gerrard is better than those as well? fabregas was never a Chelsea legend. He played better at Arsenal.

Gerrard was about big moments in Games ,Scholes dictated games for 90 minutes .

Gerrard ran his guts out, chased every ball, won it back, carried it up field, scored goals, assisted goals, woke up his teammates when they were underperforming. He did absolutely everything for 90 minutes. That's why he's top of all three lists. And before you say it, all the Scholes quotes are fake.

Gerrard never even won a premiership

I really believe Gerrard was the best player of the lot but he was not the best midfielder of Premier League of all time..To be the best midfielder in the league, you have to be great for 38 games and win it or atleast compete in a serious manner..

How are you supposed to win it if you're not on the best team? Man United, Arsenal and then Chelsea when Abramovich came in were always vastly superior to Liverpool in terms of talent. Most seasons when Liverpool were challenging for top 4, they'd have been mid table if Gerrard wasn't there.

Gerrard at no. 1? Ridiculous. He was great in his prime but once his physicality faded he became an erratic player in his later years, not just that Demba Ba one but several notable games in his final years at Liverpool. The further back he moved as he aged, the worse he got. Maybe similar can be said about Keane in his later years. But Scholes never made any high profile mistakes in his entire career while slowly moving further back, and even after coming back from retirement he still managed to control games and won another league title. He was tactically adaptable and didn't depend on his physicality which can fade as players age. It's no wonder top players like Pep, Xavi, Iniesta, Zidane, etc. all pick Scholes - the best English midfielder, bar none.

Gerrard may have made the odd mistake or two that went viral on the internet but he also led Liverpool for many years as the main man. He could do everything in football from any position, whether it was scoring or creating goals or being a defensive presence. He played in almost every single outfield position on the pitch during his career. Every football player picks up weaknesses in their game as they age, especially physical. It is then up to the manager and the team to cover those weaknesses and allow the older player to make his contribution through his strengths. This brings me to the point that Scholes played in much better teams than Gerrard did throughout his career. They are both individuals that were surrounded by 10 other players as well as different manager/s who in Scholes' case was Sir Alex. If we were to swap the two players around, do you really believe that Scholes could have even came close to achieving what Gerrard did with Liverpool and be half the leader he was for the club? Anyway, both fantastic players and either could be put above the other without any arguments but, saying that Gerrard at number 1 is "ridiculous" is ridiculous in itself.

Gerrard was quintessentially English, all action and long shots. Scholes was much more a continental style player, subtle and intelligent, so his influence was underrated by casual viewers

Becks disrespect is real. played 9 years 265 league games at United and won treble. Touré played 8 at city 230 league games. He had that 20 goal season as mid player that everyone goes mad over, but I’d argue becks over Touré
