Whorehouse Blues appears on the album Inferno and features the line-up of Lemmy, Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee. Originally released on 22nd June 2004 on SPV. Produced by Cameron Webb. Video directed by Geraldine Geraghty.
Lyrics
Well, we came up from the gutter
The wrong side of the tracks
Yeah, we came up from the gutter
Wrong side of the tracks
You know the music brought us out, babe
And we ain't never been back
'Cause we went city to city
All around the world
Yes, we went city to city
All around the world
You know it never looked like enough, honey
Even after thirty years
'Cause we come blazing like a shooting star
We light you up real good
We come blazing like a shooting star
And we light you up real good
We're gonna hit you like a flash of lightning
Just like a bad boy would
Make your name
You know the only thing that's missing
Is a little mouth harp blues, mouth harp blues
You know the only thing that's missing
Is a little mouth harp blues, that's how we do it
And you know life's full of surprises
You know we do that too
Oh yeah
Come on
You know we ain't too good looking
But we are satisfied, satisfied
No, we ain't never been good looking
But we are satisfied, satisfied
We should've opened up a little whorehouse, honey
Get a little booty on the side

Lemmy had the perfect voice for singing blues. Missed opportunity that he never released much in the way of this sound.

@@emperortrevornorton3119 I agree. They're known for hard core rock'n'roll. I just like hearing what great musicians can do when all thier effects are taken away. Some, like Motorhead still rock the house. Others.... Not so much. I guess that's what gets me on this cut. Take all the fancy sh*t away and they still knock it out the park?

Seen a couple backstage jams like this...one I recall was Mikkey playing acoustic and playing bass drum with one foot...Lemmy on harmonica too...cant recall the song...also saw video of them jamming a Little Richard song....both cool as F....you listened to Headcats? Pretty bad ass stuff......I wish there was more too man.....

I like the way Lemmy changed some of the rock n roll he grew up with into his own pieces, and I like his own work, but this is something else. A real jewel, and yet you can almost hear the familiar Motorhead bassline and electric lead.

I love this song so much. It's like a hemorrhoid cream if you have hemorrhoids. Or like a good drink when you're going through withdrawal when you're an alcoholic. Or like the good old combination of hot black coffee and a cigarette. Just hits the spot perfectly. No RIP for this Legend. I know he would agree that resting is lame as fuck. Life has just way too much to offer and we shouldn't miss out on it, even for a moment. He was, is and always will be immortal. May there be more like him!
