Hi Dashy and Dad, it was I who suggested Mostly Autumn. Evergreen is perhaps one of the best songs for newcomers, although it wasn't the first for me. Here is Simple Ways from the Passengers album, which showcases alternating male and female lead and duet. Again, several versions, but this is with Heather as lead. I consider Passengers to be their "Moving Pictures." kzread.info/dash/bejne/lJx2kryKis_YoZs.html 6m 47s Since Dad has Passengers he will also know this song. FYI, Heather did three albums after Passengers - Storms Over Still Water (my intro), Heart Full of Sky and Glass Shadows. Following that are several with Olivia, until the most recent - Graveyard Star (2021). And here is one of their epics - The Gap is Too Wide. My one criticism of it is that it could be a couple of minutes shorter. However, the music is still epic. kzread.info/dash/bejne/o6uCtqd_qMjZicY.html 11m Next time I’ll dig out something newer featuring Olivia. I think Heather and Olivia are equally good singers, albeit different. This is Australian band Voyager (there’s another Voyager who are defunct I think). Unusual-sounding. Kind of pop vocals on top of concise prog metal foundation! kzread.info/dash/bejne/o4Fp1LyahczPfNY.html 4m

Thankies again 🖤🥰🖤
I'm always happy to hear Mostly Autumn. My favourite band to see live, whoever is in the line-up. Their newer music is still well worth listening to. I think the track, Sight of Day gives a good perspective on where the band is at now.

Nightwish's Troy Donockley has been a guest musician for this band on many of their albums and has performed live with them as well. Heather Findlay has sang on the Ayreon album, The Human Equation, playing the character 'Love'.

wowza! small world thankies for the info
They were often called Pink Floyd wannabees, which isn't so awfull in my opinion. They make lovely music and are great musicians. More MOSTLY AUTUMN (live) with Troy Donockley (Nightwish) on the flute and pipes ........ and Heather Findly with *_"The Night Sky"_* : kzread.info/dash/bejne/oIR6uaieZsiairw.html&ab_channel=Nigihayahi

Most definitely I can see that influence love pink Floyd 🖤🤘🖤
You are the first reactors that i know of to listen to Mostly Autumn which is a crying shame because they have some great tracks. The current singer, Olivia Sparnenn -Josh (married to Bryan) was shortlisted for the Nightwish lead vocal job when Annette was selected and Troy from Nightwish also played with them for a while. I can recommend ‘Unquiet tears’ from the Album - Ghost Moon Orchestra as well as ‘Carpe Diem’ from Storms over still water. The recent Albums , Sight of day and White rainbow are brilliant and well worth an extended listen. For me they are to progressive rock what Nightwish are to metal which is no small recommendation.

@@DashyXDAndDadReacts well the first that I have seen….cannot claim to have seen every reaction on YT ….there are not enough hours in a life! Dashy, ask your dad if he knows the band Porcupine Tree or the solo work of their lead singer Steven Wilson. If so he might like to share that on the channel too. If neither of you know them, then its about time you took a listen/watch. I would suggest ‘Arriving somewhere but not here’ live in Chicago as a starting point or ‘Trains’ if the first one is too long for you.

There are one or two reactors out there, e.g., www.youtube.com/@apocketfulofheep I've prompted him to do more. But he hasn't done so far, although he suggested he would. I agree MA are criminally underrated. Their best songs are as good as the classics of the classic bands w know and love.

Yep. I suggested this. Not that Livvy does a bad job but since this is Heather's song I thought it best to start with the original. 🙂
