hi new player here. just passed the 100 hour mark. I'm playing on the switch. I got the short-ranged teleporter unlocked but haven't been able to use it for some reason. I've researched how to place them and hook them up but the teleporter cable simply won't snap into place. Some suggest I need to give a bit of room between my character and the teleporter, so I've tried slowly moving back and forth while aiming the cable at the thing it's supposed to snap to. Still doesn't work. If anybody has any suggestions I'd appreciate it. Would surely be handy for me since I love building bases inside of caves. LOL. Cheers.

I wish I had an answer but I’ll pin this in hopes that it’ll get an answer from someone who may know what’s going on.

Try placing a wall on the ground and attach to it then to your teleporter that usually helps with stubborn wires

Had a similar issue, had to bust and replace the object. Any way to remap the buttons on switch?

I don't have an answer since I play on PC, but for what I've read in a patch note, it seems that the switch (and console) version have quite some bugs, but they are actively working on them, so if you didn't get it to work yet, hopefully it will be corrected soon.

for solar panels and batteries, the battery's max i/o is equal to the max io of a solar panel so you'll want 2 panels for each battery so it can get a full charge before the sun goes down. Depending on how much you're powering, you may only need one panel and one battery.

Good to know, I know the basics of electricity but the batteries have always been sort of confusing for some reason.

@@Colmatt yeah, general rule of thumb, 2 panels per battery so if you need 3 batteries, best to just slap down 6 solars.

I suppose you'll want to add up your power load to determine how many batteries/panels you need. I imagine each powered device lists a power need. I know if you are making a jump point base. Ie the base, a teleprompter, and maybe your storage crate. One panel and one battery seems sufficient. If you go beyond that you may need to add thar second panel

Nice overview. Did not know about the extra storage of the processors, though limited, still handy to know! Good for showing my newer friends just jumping in, this takes alot of my useless explaining away. 👌

I would take exception to you saying the save point, and save beacon are equivalent.. you touched on it when you mentioned the beacon would be useful for finding it again.. but the save pointss I tend to just leave around my base for random crash protection.. but the beacons have a specific purpose :)

A lot of new players are coming to NMS. Your content is great and you explain things clearly. It might be advantageous to make new, up to date videos. There is a million things to do in the game and possibly a huge playlist of your content with updated UIs and mechanics would be solid. You definitely found a few new subs from my friends and I.

Thank you for the awesome video. Don’t get hung up on the length of your video because I find watching a lot of videos myself that the comments tend to land they would rather get all the information then watch a 10 minute video then leave something out.

Just a little thing to add for the gaz extractor and mineral extractor (since I didn't know that when I started :D): you can place several of them to increase the amount of gaz/mineral per hour you will get since the spot is pretty large (the farthest from the exact point of the spot you are the less you will gain but still, you will have some!) (Same for electromagnetic generators btw). I usually place 4 of them, which for a B class gives around 20k per day (of course you need the number of supply depots accordingly which is a lot ^^ but the good thing is that it cost only ferrite dust to make). For the refiners, it still works very well to "multiply" materials you already have, it can take some time though.
