I remember my grand daughter so young, taking selfies, her friends always telling her she was beautiful. What a nightmare for many children. Some children are hiding the reason for this attention they seek. Not sure now how much later she started to stutter, we need to watch and think why!!! Pray protection over your children and grandchildren daily!!!

I was reading up on First Lady's Barbara and Laura Bush, whom to my disappointment I found that both are okay with abortion. Former First Lady, Barbara Bush, justified abortion by the verse where God breathed life into Adam and therefore a child doesn't get it's first breath until it's born. I also hate that Joyce Meyers says we are "little gods" and Steven Furtick said "I am God Almighty!" He said this twice in a row during one of his messages to his congregation and they just clapped and roared loudly!

I am a 66 year old mother of 3 and grandmother of 6 and I have never been concerned with my identity. I have soent my life being concerned with what God is asking of me and learning about his identity. Turn your eyes away from 'self' and make it your fervent desire to live in the Divine Will and your life (and your afterlife) will be blessed.

Pretty good description of our identity until saying that we are fallen in Adam. The truth is that no one alive after the resurrection of Christ is fallen. As in Adam, all died, so in Christ, all are made alive. Righteousness, justification, redemption, reconciliation and being born again, were all accomplished by Christ, by His blood, death, and resurrection. That is the objective truth, done, complete, aorist tense in the original language. Believing brings this truth into our subjective experience, but it is true whether we believe it or know it. Our identity is in the last Adam, Christ, and nothing can change that. Our identity does not change when we repent or believe, only our experience does. That is good news.

You have some misconceptions regarding the definition of “self”. The flesh is full of “appetites”. The individual “personality” is a different thing. The “personality” is your “distinctions”, from others, that GOD CREATED, according to GOD’S DESIGN, which we can understand “biblically”, as we study the WORD OF GOD. GOD IS THE DESIGNER AND CREATOR of every difference in every person, from the fingerprint to your personal “taste for your ice cream flavor”. Correction: definition of “holy”: SET APART FOR GOD. This has nothing to do with the “purity” of one’s heart, but it has everything to do with WHO YOU BELONG TO. You may be a “new convert” with little understanding of WHAT “pure motives” IN THE HEART even means, or you may be a “seasoned” “Warrior for Christ”, and have undergone years of “sanctification”, and your “purity of heart” has matured, but in EITHER case YOU ARE HOLY, and being made HOLY, at the same time, because Christ has “set you apart” for HIM. You belong to Him. And THAT IS WHAT “HOLINESS” is about. In the Old Testament, it called “being Consecrated unto God.” The Hebrews showed it with vows for example to (1)Not cut your hair, or to (2)NOT drink alcohol. These vows were kept by an individual to “prove” HIS allegiance to the GOD of ABRAHAM, ISSAC, AND JACOB. BUT, as “new Believers in Christ” we have within us THE ULTIMATE PROOF or “GUARANTEE”, FROM GOD, BEFORE GOD: see Hebrews 7:22, 2 Corinthians 1:22, 5:5, Ephesians 1:14, and 1 Peter 1:1-5

Sure, there are cons with psychology, but there are definite biblically valid pros as well. Setting up psychology and the Bible as a fundamental dichotomy is fallacious. As a conservative Christian totally committed to the authority of Scripture, I have recognised and seen the benefits of psychology over the past ten years. I have never once heard a psychologist say, “Believe in yourself.” This may be a part of pop motivational speaking but you can’t conflate that with genuine psychology. And then to make the jump from there to identity politics and “you being you” is such very sadly tactless. For example, it trivialises the Christian couple who are grieving the death of their child. The Bible is totally sufficient, by the work of the Spirit, to minister to their spiritual needs. But there is nothing wrong with their doctor temporarily prescribing sleeping pills to help with their physical exhaustion. Nor is it in any invalid for them to benefit from psychological guidance about how the brain, hormones, and emotions behave, and how we can recognise this and make use of protocols to help manage them, all in humble and grateful dependence on Almighty God. MI’s comment about the rise in narcissism in society is very true, and that is sadly apparent in Christian circles. And aren’t self-appointed, self-promoting, independent, unaccountable, parachurch prophets a prime example?

We start life learning...we go to primary school to learn the basics to prepare us for what we want to do in life .....go to high school to prepare us to what we are going to do in adulthood .....and some go to Uni/ college to prepare us for experience in what we have chosen to be and do in our life...only to come out with ideologies and someone else's idea of what YOUR life should be about.... We started in perfect human form and end up confused hopeless and angry ......bringing nothing positive forth but chaos into their lives and others ! Without the Almighty we are definetly lost!
