It was Moura who answered Mourinho's call. He created the chance for Kane's goal, moving through the defenders. Kane did nothing but kick the ball that landed at his feet. Moura did all the hard work but Kane got all the glory. Moura is underrated.

Thats the problem with English teams. They have no standard philosophy that they can fall back on. They just have to keep buying players and hoping that a coach comes along with the right vision for the group. The level of gameplay is high because the best players tend to play there, but looking at a club perspective, Great Britain is a failed fucking joke.

@@awfan221 Imo Jose's United isn't about squad mentality, we had big players who has won it all but the squad was simply not good enough. Credit to Ole, United's squad now is far better than Jose's United, although Jose did say he really wanted a CB but was never delivered. I remember us being linked to very good CBs during Jose's tenure but non of them were signed.

The most important thing for me in football is "If you don't use your brain, you will have to use your legs in order to win"! The thing that irritates me the most in order players is the lack or insufficiency of thinking component in their playstyle. You may have no exquisite foot skill, maybe fat and slow as a sloth, and may not make a single run for the entire game but if you brain is sharp and quick, and you know when to dribble, when to shoot and when to pass, and whom to pass to, and where to stand, which all requires THINKING you are going to be very high on my list!

But those thoughts arent made in a desk with a pen and paper. They are made during split second moments that come and go from the players vision, with what feels like the pressure of the whole world on their shoulders, even teammates. These guys have done nothing but play football for 20 years, they fundamentally know what has to be done and they have done it with their legs before many many times, but its a constant struggle against social pressure, confidence, physical struggles, form. Emotions are the basis of it all.

Yeah but good thinking cannot alone sufficient in professional level. Because to execute ideas you need to be in right position. Muller is the best example of this.. he is not good at anything but his thinking is at another level and to with that he has the stamina to execute it. He is always at the right position...

Nothing happened, at the moment, the best Tottenham's starting 11 does not include him. - Son and Kane are untouchable. - He could play in a duo with Kane, but what he would do, Kane can cover dropping deep, and he does it better than Ali, simply cause to do it he moves away from his center nine position and leaves the space for the wingers runs. So the team doesn't lack anything. - He could be the third guy, of the front trio, but the third guy needs to bring something different, and in this case, Mourinho wants that extra work rate to always balance the team. If you compare Bergwijn/Lucas defensive/tactical effort, off the ball, to Ali's, you know why Mourinho choses the other two. - He could be the third guy, and be more cerebral, coming inside and give the wing more to sissoko/aurier, but having two strong attacking midfielders like Ndombele/Gio, that serve the strikers well, you don't want them to clash... so you need any "inside movement" from the winger to be targetting a finish or a 1-2 combination to receive ahead and try the finish... and Ali is god, but Spurs have Bale sitting... and once he improves a bit, he is straight away better than Ali to do just that, coming inside and boom. So maybe Mourinho prefers to bet on a different horse...
