There's a good reason for it. It had a 4-cylinder engine and was as elegant as Donald Trump. And presumably as fast.

The only car unknown in my country (El Salvador) is the that Skyline. I had the chance to drive or being passenger of almost of the the rest of the cars. A friend of mine still has a MR2, another friend had an '85 Dodge Conquest, which is basically the same Starion, a cousin had an AE86 and a CRX. The cars I couldn't drive (or being passenger) were the RX-7 and the 300ZX, because none of my friends or relatives had one of those

The original MR2 was completely blown away by the Pontiac Fiero GT. The Starion turbo was a great car. One outran my 1985 IROC-Z. The Honda CRX was the only Honda I ever liked since the original Civic CVCC. The 300ZX was a backwards evolution of the original 240Z/260Z/280Z/ through 1977, by far the best car to ever come out of Japan, ever. Notice how every one of these cars has TWO doors, sadly something nobody makes anymore. I also noticed that several of them had been riced out.

I thought so i knew there was a 260z back n the day i know for sure about the 240 sx, my uncle had a 1987 Chrysler Conquest (turbo version flat side) my dad and my uncle both had a 280 zx 86 model, i love the Japanese 80's era sport cars they are some of the best cars til this day, man the memories are priceless! im currently trying to get the Quest Tsi up and running its running i think just bad turbo as it smokes terribly i got in mind to slap in a Garrett.

No car screams 80s from every angle like the Mitsubishi Starion.

I miss my crx si….it handled like a go cart and was real good on gas.

here in Australia we had the 2lt sirus engine 4G63t , cant say I ever saw any with the wide body kit that looks amazing and 5 stud wheels ours only had 4

Here I am looking at some old school that I could remember from back then....then at 8:20 you hit me with TSX10 6x9 speakers , they were kool to me because the TSX10 words could light up green , out of the speakers only the TSX6 are the only ones that don’t have the lights and they were black boxed.

No s12....? They where fairly popular in Japan.

Might be a bit late, but Mazda RX-7 FC manufacturing dates are wrong. They were made from 1985 to 1992.

I just want to point out in my profile picture you'll see a Honda crx but it's an 84, why didn't it have 84 in the dates on the video?

What about the japanese 1982-1984 toyota corona gt-t and gt-tr coupe and sedan models???

It's an impossible task to list ALL "iconic Japanese cars". There are simply too many, especially in the 80's when the Japanese were trying everything to break into new markets as American and British car industry was spiraling down. You could have mentioned Mazda Eunos, Toyota Carina 2000GT, Honda Integra... and the list can go on forever, really.

Right or the 240sx,the Nissan Pulsar but i still enjoyed the list, im just super happy that you included both the Starion and the Conquest alot of people have forgotton or still didnt know about those cars.

280zx was more early 80s... 300zx was more of an 80s car since it was througout the 80s. Basically any z car is iconic...

The 80s for japan was like the 50s for america..just peak of their styling

We never got the AE86 chassis code in the USA, they were all AE85 cars with the 4AGE.

maybe 8 to 10 years ago i hated the styling of the mkII supra because of its boxy rear lights and weird pop up headlights. nowadays I admire it much more because retro styling and long sleek hood, reminds me of old corvettes. interesting what time can do to you huh ? :)

StarJoker 2 Same, I thought it looked ugly the first time I saw it. After about 2 years I looked at it again after getting more into cars, I love its retro look, especially the rear and its long front end.. even the black outlines on the fenders.

1g crx 84-87, second gen crx 88-91

Toyota starlet, mazda 323 4wd, Subaru Loyale, R32, Silvia, Civic....

I think CRX is more reachable and convenient than others.

Mitsubishi with blown valve steam seals what a surprise... Doesn't mater the model, year or engine they all blow the seals.
