Greece winning the euro 2004 is BY FAR the most EPIC football tale of all time. They were not just underdogs, they had been written off even before the tournament had began. I remember how many Karens tried to diminish that absolute miracle of sports by saying Greece played bad and without imagination. One win can be luck, but knocking out all the football juggernauts of the time, the Czechs, the French and Ronaldo's Portugal not once but twice in their HOME TURF, says it all. That stuff we saw back then from this humble group of unknown players and their Obi One Kenobi of a coach, is really what dreams are made of.

@@vetklep84I agree, Denmark 92 was even bigger. They were not even supposed to participate. They were actually on holidays when they were asked to replace Yugoslavia and ending up beating everybody, including defending champs Netherlands in semis and world champs Germany in final.

@@TheDibule Greece had NEVER won a match in any major tournament finals before 2004, they hadn't won any match in their only euro participation that was 24 YEARS before 2004 and they lost all their 3 group games in the mundial 1994. Greece's team was unknown, Denmark had at the time a Peter Schmeichel and a Michael Laudrup, both stars at international level. But if this doesn't make the case, then the bookies will: the official odds of Denmark winning the euro 1992 were 20/1 and the odds of Greece winning the euro 2004 were... 150/1. This says it all.

1998 world bronze was celebrated more than independence and the end of war. Then 20 years of "oh yeah, we have a lead and it's 75th minute, it's over" spirit, we were all surprised in 2018. 2022 was pure luck. 2024 is back to reality. That 2008 match against Turkiye was... you should have been here, people shocked and gutted, walking the streets like zombies for 2 days. La victoire du Portugal à l'euro 2016 a été la plus grosse honte du football. Victoire tellement pas méritée avec que de la triche un arbitre honteux. S'ils ont fini meilleur troisième de leur groupe c pas pour rien. Je suis tjs frustré de ce vol à la France et à tout les pays éliminé injustement à cause de ce pays de merde ( au foot )
