He said if someone is not performing consistently, even if he is senior, should be kept out. 2 decades back, there were many inconsistent players in ODIs, like Gavaskar (test player), Srikanth, Ravi Sastri, Manjreker.. etc. Result is India had lost so many matches during that time. He said that tradition should change. He is right, in fact, only performers should be there in the team. No doubt Verendra Sehwag is greatest and most fluent batsman in the world.

He had strike rate of 104 in ODI which is really impressive. Anyone who comes close to his kind of batting is Afridi. Afridi had more strike rate than Sehwag. But Sehwag had better average & he scored more runs in less matches than Afridi. There are many other batsmen whose strike rate is more than Afridi or Sehwag. But having more strike rate in few matches while scoring less run compare to maintaining more strike rate while playing more matches and scoring more runs are two different things. That's why he's a legend.

Being a cricket buff I have seen many geniuses like Viv, lara Sachin, Inzi, Hayden, Greenidge etc. But man Sehwag was something else.
