Most cringe worthy DIY repair project I've ever done! - @Barnacules

Did you know I've made over 800+ other videos on KZread? Hit that SUBSCRIBE button and watch another Barnacules Nerdgasm video right after this one! 🍿 In this episode of #JerryRigged I show you all the wrong ways to fix a broken power button on Logitech Z-5500 THX Surround PC speaker receiver and due to a chain reaction of unfortunate bad decisions a 5 minute simple clever hack turns into a 30 minute documentary of fail ending in possible redemption.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==
Q) Why didn't you just 3D print a new button
A) Come on, I wouldn't even get batteries down stairs for the remote, you think I was going to design and print a new button from scratch? (But maybe later)
Q) Why didn't you unplug it?
A) Truth is I didn't want to climb under the desk because my rib is still hurting like hell from being cracked. That being said it was stupid even though it made the video somewhat more entertaining from a cringe-worthy standpoint.
Q) Why are you so fat?
A) Lots of access to food!
Q) Can you still buy those speakers?
A) Yes, I linked them above however they are like $1500 because they are NOS now because they don't make them anymore. Just get the Logitech G906's which aren't quite as good but the best thing they make now or just get yourself a good stereo receiver and book shelf speakers or studio monitors if you have the space!
Q) Why is this video 30 minutes long?
A) I know KZread wants 10 minute videos and this will hurt the viewership but I don't care, it was fun to make this video and I like making fun videos
I hope you enjoy the #DIYGasm #HowTo videos on my channel including #Tutorial of 3D printing, programming, technology, VR and so much more.
UPDATE: It broke after 3 days. I opened it up and used hot glue like I wanted to do the first time and it works like brand new and took 5 minutes total 😉 still hope you enjoyed the video 😎

    I hope you guys enjoyed watching this very long train wreck of a #JerryRigged episode showing just how wrong things can go before they go right. This project should have originally taken like 10 minutes but instead went on for hours because of mistake after mistake. I hope you get a laugh at my continuous attempts to make a simple problem hard as possible and ultimately fix it. If you *ENJOYED THIS VIDEO* please give it a like and consider subscribing for more content like it in the future. Also check out my 760+ other videos that cover anything nerdy. Join my Patreon for $1 a month at patreon.com/barnacules to get private behind the scenes videos weekly including my personal life and family life which I don't showcase on the public channel since I want to stick to technology, reviews, education and fun on here 🙏

I found you originally by searching for info on z5500 back in the day. but I subscribed & stayed for these kinda crazy videos like you used to make a lot more often. anyways, this is great content. and could be a continuing series. YES please, print that 3D button. and hell why stop there? 3D print the whole back assembly piece as well to put it back together. instead of the power icon but barnacules or your logo on there. I hope you saved all the broken/trash pieces. otherwise I dunno how you're going to get the exact dimensions. unless one of the viewers who also owns one of these, volunteers to take their control box apart & help you out lol.
