The United pilots at the end were also rewarded and honored for their excellent airmanship as nobody had been faced with those exact circumstances before, with the manufacturers of that airplane, McDonnell Douglas, stating that the failure of all hydraulic systems was a virtual impossibility. The normal team in the cockpit plus the spare instructor pilot that happened to be on board as a non-revenue passenger are the sole reasons why anybody on that plane managed to live. They had to develop a new way to try to fly and land the aircraft on the spur of the moment, at a speed nearly twice of what was required for landing, and a sink rate far in excess of the norm. Hats off to all of these pilots for doing what they can try and keep us safe on a daily basis.

@@MarlonWilliams1 Of the Japan Airlines crash or the United crash? There are a ton of reconstructions of the Japan Airlines flight, a few of which use direct data from the flight data recorder to chart it's exact movements and control manipulations. There are also several documentaries about it you can find on KZread with ease. For the United one, flight 232, I've never seen a digital interpretation of the flight data recorder. But I would imagine that's probably because the flight data recorder was partially useless as soon as all the hydraulic lines were severed and the fluid drained out of the aircraft, because none of the control surfaces could be manipulated at all. By that point they only had the wing mounted engines that they could manipulate to reduce and increase thrust as a crude way of turning, and didn't have much control at all in the way of climbing or descending, which is why they crash landed. There are several documentaries on this incident as well. Probably the best one is from Mentor Pilot, or if you prefer a shorter one without any talking, The Flight Channel has a great one. You could also watch the Captain himself give presentations on it on KZread because he survived the flight. He's spoken at many different flight academies and various other public forums about the incident for decades.

I believe the flight crew actually survived that last one. Complete loss of hydraulic control after an uncontained failure of the #2 tail mounted engine, and a DC-10 instructor pilot called Denny Fitch who was a passenger stepped in to help. Using asymmetric engine thrust of the #1 & #3 wing mounted engines he got it to the runway but the plane started to bank at the last moment and the engines couldn't respond in time, wingtip hit the ground and the plane cartwheeled. The flight crew's actions, and managing to reach an airport with emergency services on standby saved the lives of 184 of the 296 on board.

Your life can't suck that bad does it?
That's sad,rest in peace
I loved the video, JAL seemed to stay in the air for a very impressive amount of time. Nice work! Do you have recordings for 9/11 flights?
this is one of my biggest fears ever to hear this sound uand u know that ur life would be gone within seconds
These are haunting… “this it it”. Rest In Peace to the souls aboard.
JAL 123 was the worst accident in aviation history imo.. there's been suicide pilots and I know Tenerife was the most deadly but so many people on board and to have the rear bulkhead come off midflight and take the vertical stabilizer with it is just unimaginable..I can't even think about what I would do in that moment

@@shivinunitholi2493 Multiple factors contributed to that. The sheer fact that Tenerife was overcrowded because of a terrorist attack in Gran Canaria can be "the reason it all happened" on the first place. Such a tragedy that had every piece fall for it to happen
Overwhelming. RIP
This video got 200k views congrats
This stuff is truly heartbreaking
flight 261 final words: 'ah here we go' , moments before plunging into the pacific upside down are more than chilling.
Cameras should be added on the fuselage, so pilots can see the engines, wings and stabilizers.

Exactly i wonder when we have high tech 360 camera for car's why don't such expensive airplanes don't have 360 camera so that they can see all the control surface's or what is happening on the plane. Wonder when that will become norm in our present planes.

@Paul Ne':for years I have been asking myself why pilots should struggle to identify exactly which engine has flamed out for eg and get it sorted fast to save time and avoid switching off wrong engines. They should have full views of entire exterior of their aircraft. Take air France crash for example, the so called titanic of crashes, poor pilots could have realised very early their speed probes were blocked by ice instead of having to wonder why auto pilot disengaged and the wrong speed transmissions, they would have known in few minutes all ice would be gone and they would trust their instruments without confusions.I think aviation is less regulated maybe because crashes aren't that frequent but one incidence take so many lives it hurts.

Some now do, passengers can switch the back of the chair monitor to view the aircraft from a tail mounted live feed camera.

Even if they can see it they still can't fix it if it fails. Some things need a manual control for back up if the electronics fail. If it's possible that is.
The background sounds are more chilling than ever 😱😱
I can’t believe you didn’t include Adam Air 574. It is haunting how they are chanting a phrase for god to save them over and over, until the plane fully breaks up.

The pilots were focusing on their failing navigation system, and both failed to notice that they were falling at 54,000 feet per minute. This is an extremely simplified explanation of the incident, I encourage you to research more about it.

The stuff of nightmares. 😵💫😵💫
The robotic "pull up" blaring in your final moments must be terrifying. God bless them all
They are like the warriors. They fights till their last breath.
Some people think that final transmission from the Swiss Air flight is actually the word "rauf" (German) which translates in english as "get up" or "up". As we have heard many pilots going down say things like "pull up" or "up" over and over....It is truly heartbreaking.

Damn You really feel for those people.
That "PULL UP" and "LOW TERRAIN" reminds me of the same thing said in the cockpit by computers in the Denzel Washington movie crash scene called Flight

United 232 miracle was something that reminded me of JAL 123 although JAL case was next to impossible for pilots to win. The only difference between JAL and United 232 was the tail
Planes are as scary as hospitals when things start going wrong …
I use to get so scared on the planes before take off, I'd start to cry.A few times I heard noises and I'd ask what it was. A few minutes later, we were getting off the plane. Whatever it was, I'd rather have to get off, and let them repair it, than to get in the air, then crash. I'm glad I don't fly any more.
