Welcome to the 3-part special on the story of Shivaji Maharaj, always waited to present this to the audience. Our guest today is Medha Bhaskaran, a microbiologist, an author, and another all-star of The Ranveer Show. The wealth of knowledge she has is truly incredible, honoured to host Medha ma'am at our space for such fantastic episodes we created with her. In this episode, we go into the depths of the Mughal empire, before the Shivaji Maharaj era, and what was the country's socio-economic status back then, what was the reality of the kings and the emperors who ruled our land mass. REAL Stories Of Indian History Uncovered - Watch out.
Medha Bhaskaran, from the year 2000 onwards, started studying Mughal Maratha history as she felt passionate about it. More than a hundred books were referred to, forts visited, and discussions with historians, weapon experts and other people involved in the subjects continued. She is the author of Shivaji's bestselling biography, Challenging Destiny. Amazon Link: www.amazon.in/Challenging-Des...
This episode is a 3-part conversation starting from the rule of the Mughal Empire, before the Shivaji Maharaj era, then part 2 where we talk about the times when India saw the rise of Shivaji Maharaj, and then comes part 3 where we talk about his final vision. Stay Tuned as Part 2 and Part 3 of this series will be released in the following two Tuesdays of the Month of October.

When Dara Shikoh says he does not want to be a pearl but he wants to be an ocean...he wants to say he does not want to limit himself as just a body which will come, stay and then leave this world. He wants to realize awareness where you are no longer the body but the awareness/consciousness (which is the vast ocean). Dara Shikoh had talks with many Hindu intellectuals and understood the depth of Vedas and Upanishads. He did a deep study of them and translated almost half of the Upanishads in Persia(almost 50 I believe). Dara took the Vedas and Upanishads to the other part of the world through these translations. He would have translated all of the Upanishads but midway Aurangzeb killed him.

Why can’t you study history objectively. Why do you think it’s necessary to color everything with religious colors. The battles that took place between the Mughals and another Rajas were for political reasons. There was nothing religious in it. Many Hindus fought with Mughals and many Muslims fought with Marathas. Mughals were tyrannical, and they were like that even with their own kith and kin for political reasons. And even the other kingdoms had their infighting. But if you compare Aurangazeb with other Mughal emperors , he was much better. He did not squander money, was not ayyash. and was a righteous person. Since he was the emperor it is his duty to guard his kingdom from all enemies. Within his kingdom as well as outside. But ai agree with the historian when she says the local subedaar and jabaldaar took undue advantage of the power given to them. And that was the weakness of the Mughal empire.

But in the battle field it was Aurengzeb who prevailed. The Historians research also indicate,if Dara Shikwoh had survived,Aurengzeb would have been eliminated, too. It was do or die for Aurengzeb. This lady made right in beginning a conclusive statement. She said, Shahjahan thought Aurangzeb a threat to him. Why Aurangzeb only out of the four sons. Because he was aware of his ability to go to any extent to achieve his goal. Secondly, why was it necessary for him to humiliate Dara after capture in public procession. Why was it necessary for him to send the beheaded head of Dara to Shajahan! Was it not sadistic? There are many such examples of him displaying unnecessary cruelty.

The most important thing .was that so necessary to kill dara bro was so much into religious activity. i can't understand how that was effecting orange Seb empire. ..he could have thrown him out of his dynasty saying you are not made for ruling emperor... The reason was dara was giving equal importance to all religion but orange seb couldn't bear this level of goodness 💀

There is a professor there, Audrey Trusdale, who says Aurangzeb was the best ruler and whitewashes his atrocities. Her motive? Not sure but here father in law is a known Christian pastor who is heavily engaged in conversion activities in India. Research it if you do not believe me.
