Age 70: chronic knee and hip pain, figured there was a knee replacement soon. Started the deep squats -- pain gone in knee and hip in about 3 weeks. Now do 10 - 20 per day and can stay down for about a minute before I feel uncomfortable, also now getting very low where when I started barely to the sitting position. Shows never too late to start. Thank You!

Thank you for this. I am a 64 year old man, and watched this video in a deep squat !! I started doing it a year or 2 ago. At first I could barely do 20 to 30 seconds, but I persevered. I think my record was 8 mins one time, but I generally just do 2 to 3 mins, 2 0r 3 times a day. I make a point of doing it if I have been sitting for some time. i.e if watching a movie in the house I will do it once or twice during the film .

Am 71, squat everyday WITH elastic bands. I have arthritis due to aging and from the family history, but doesn't bother me much. Yes squatting is good but it's not the only number I exercise to help aging process. Any exercise will do but depending on each individual with the level they can reach. Swimming is an excellent exercise for seniors tooand other resistance exercises are needed and very important. The elastic bands are not expensive (cheaper than your prescriptions drugs). I woul recommend everyone to use it. I see a huge result after only a few weeks . Squat with bands 👍👍👍the best thing you can do for the body. Try and you know what am talking about

WRONG, squatting IS the number one exercise. Sure, there are many other exercises that are beneficial and you should also do them but NONE of them compare to the squat as this one of the most basic human positions. Before toilets were invented this was the essential position to defecate from.

The bands are great. I had to adjust my workouts for bands but once you figure out the motions and where to hold the band and/or where to anchor it you can replicate any free weight exercise. You can also do more exercises with resistance bands than you can with free weights. Exercise bands are like your own canle machine, but without the joint damage potential. And you can build mass with them just as well as with weights.

It's not about being young or old, but if you used your range of motion in the past few years or not. Loading a deep squat with weight before you can control the weight will lead to injury. Like any other exercise will do. But hip and shoulder mobility can be maintained easily until the age you will never leave a bed again.
