    The are wrong about the rights in the Declaration of Independence. They confused it with the Bill of Rights. The correct answer should have been life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

    Yeah if I'm being honest it was pretty surprising that they accepted the answer that came from the Bill of Rights (1st & 2nd amendment) but denied the actual answer that came from the Declaration (pursuit of happiness). How'd they mess that up??

    Travina & Aidan, The amendments aren't apart of the Declaration of Independence tho, it's in the constitution. They're two seperate documents written 13 years apart that discuss and address different things. You don't answer a question with one right answer and one that's not right but just happens to be similar. ADD just wrong completly giving the others points for naming Amendments.

    Actually the bill of rights. The bill of rights listed the first 10 amendments, with the other 17 coming later.

    The Declaration of Independence was a COMPLETELY separate document from the Constitution AND the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights are the first 10 Amendments to the Constitution. Those were written in 1787. The Declaration of Independence was written in 1776. The answer to the two rights in the Declaration of Independence is in the part that goes “...endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights. Amongst those are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

    No. 7 is worded incorrectly. The “rights” in the Declaration of Independence ARE life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Actual rights are outlined in The Constitution.

    I am a naturalized citizen and took the test. It honestly depends on what they ask you. The practice / study book had questions as easy as what are the colours on the U.S. flag to name all original 13 colonies during the American Revolution.

    @@jonathan6730 that's why they changed it, actually. The original incarnation of the phrase is "life, liberty, and property" via John Locke and later found in the 5th amendment, but abolishionists didn't want it to be used to defend slavery (liberty only applying to some, apparently).

    It was made to free the slaves. But Lincoln realized it had no enforcement or true freeing. Thats why an amendmant had to be passed. But essentially, it did free le slaves.

    The pursuit of happiness is listed in the Declaration of Independence as a right. I don't get how that one was wrong. DOI: "Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." Constitution: Bill of rights. Technically I think the girl got them all right if that was the only one she missed

    2:48 it says nothing in the declaration about the right to bear arms or the right to free speech. He was wrong but they marked him right. The next person said pursuit of happiness which is a right in the declaration, but they marked her wrong. Looks like the people who made this video couldn't pass the citizenship test either.

    Like 2 of their answers were wrong. The Declaration of independence states "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness". So she was right. Then you can file after April 15th. Ideally you should, and you pay a penalty if you owe and you don't.

    The Fifth Amendment says you have the right to not incriminate yourself. Basically, you dont have to self snitch. The right to remain silent is in the Miranda rights. Those were used to simplify the fifth amendment to people that don't know about it, and to clearly state it to people who might not know the language.

    @ Richard M and reallybigpimpin666 Miranda Rights is just a phrase that refers to the supreme court case Miranda vs Arizona in which the opinion of the court stated that an officer must inform you of your 5th amendment right to avoid self-incrimination. The different wording does not change where the right derives from. The case was based on Miranda being forced to confess without knowing he didn't have to (I.e. his 5th amendment right to remain silent). *The Miranda case did not create any new rights* (the supreme court isn't even really supposed to be able to do that; they interpret the constitution, not amend it), it just set a standard that your 5th amendment rights must be explained to you before you are taken into custody. Miranda Rights are 5th amendment rights.

    Nikiynova no it only freed slaves in the south. The civil war was mainly fought over states rights which slavery fell under but Lincoln didn't free shit because the south didn't even think it was part of the Union so they didn't follow Lincoln's bills or laws.

    The Constitution contains the bill of rights (Right to bear arms, Freedom of speech, etc) The Declaration of Independence was the formal break from England - it didn't outline rights.

    I would suggest making it mandatory for Politicians/Public Officials to have to take a version of the Citizenship test before being sworn into Office. That might help us avoid some really bad Sheriffs, Public Prosecutors, Judges, Mayors, Governors, Representatives, Senators, Cabinet Members, Presidents...
