I’ve got the tamer pistol grip with a Magpul forend with m-lock vertical grip. Game changer for shooting cut shells and slugs. Just slapped on a heat shield with ring sights. Starting to be a fun little gun

Hey Matt. Nice bit on the hogue. The sling swivel mounts are in a great spot for a 3 point sling. Adjust it right and you can let go it drops to your body and you can transition to your sidearm. As well I love watching those nincompoops on the fail vids. Shotguns rule for home defence anyway. Keep it going brother.

dirty don thanks! If I put an actual stock back on this gun it will be a magpul. I like that length of pull adjustability, plus awesome magpul quality!

The Hogue grip is the best pistol grip and their rubber compound tames recoil as the name states. I've shot with other pistol grips and they can dig into the webbing of your hand quite a bit and the harsh plastic will hurt.

I have always liked hogue products and i can see where that would be pretty beneficial to a pistol grip shotgun..Good video as always man! Now you just need a semi auto shotgun...M4 *cough* *cough* lol

I just installed the Hogue Forend on my Mossberg 500 Field & HD. Freakin' Love it!! All Black Now!

Tennessee Matt, does it help with the recoil bite from 2& 3/4" shells. I shot some 00 buckshot earlier and boy, my hand was sore! LOL!

I don't know if you still look at this video of yours it's a good video on the Mossberg 20 inch barrel eight shot with the pistol grip and yes the pistol grip that comes with is that cheap poly my whatever some kind of plastic hard on the end and the web between your thumb and index the whole grip like you said that's the way to go is the whole I don't think there's a better grip for absorbing recoil is the Hogue with the gel inserted and it off the great grip I love that saber that you have that shoulder strap saber for your shotgun where did you get that?

Have you played with the mossberg 590 shockwave? Fun as hell. If you don't mind pgo shotguns I think you'd love it. Great video man!

On same shotgun would that raptor shockwave grip have less felt recoil? They say it pushes back on arm instead of wrist...

ultimately I prefer a stock on a shotgun, but given the option between this hogue grip and the raptor I prefer the hogue. I feel like it gives me more control and feels more solid in my grip.

I have the exact same gun and grip, except mine is a maverick 88 20" barrel with a swivel front sling mount replacement cap I got from Buds gun shop.

Ik it's a year later but did you install the pump too I was reading the pump won't fit the 88

it possibly could, depending on your recoil sensitivity. I believe Mossberg makes a factory configuration like that you're talking about.

I’ve got Hogue rubber on most of my guns. No better grip.

I have that mossberg. With a state of the art pistol grip butt stock, with a recoil reduction slide. It is the most inaccurate pump I've ever fired. I can only imagine it with just a grip and no stock.

With a stock on this shotgun I’ve used it to shoot skeet. I didn’t find it to be inaccurate. Quite the opposite actually...

Full stock makes the most sense - unless you plan on slipping this under your raincoat to kill Cyberdyne Systems T-800 terminators like Kyle Reese. You're still bringing the shotgun up to shoulder height when you fire it. Think about that!

How does the Hogue compare to a Birdshead grip like the Raptor?

I personally like the Hogue grip a lot better. I don't feel like I have as much control with a birdhead grip.

@@TennesseeMatt I did end up buying the birds head based in a couple of other videos I saw. Less recoil and as far as control, I will probably end up getting the forearm strap. That and plenty of practice should help with control. Thanks.

not really sure. I would say it depends on if it would take Remington or Mossberg aftermarket stocks, if it can even take an aftermarket stock at all.

trust me, I've been there. I would do some looking around online. If there's not something that is a direct fit, you may be able to find an adapter.

How bad is the Recoil?

Anyone ask someone who would know if this is legal? You guys slap mods on firearms and then wonder why someone comes knocking on your door. I do believe the pigeon grip is there for a reason; to make it legal.

as this has a 20" barrel, yes, this configuration is legal. You can get it this way from the factory. I'm not one to "slap" anything on a firearm and I've never had anyone come knocking at my door. You're probably thinking more of the mossberg shockwave, which comes from the factory with the Raptor birds head grip that makes it meet the legal length for a "firearm" as the Shockwave is not classified as a shotgun. If you were to put a Mossberg or Hogue pistol grip on the Shockwave it would be under the 26" overall length requirement and be illegal unless you registered it as an AOW.

Full stock doesn't work if you're blind in your right eye like me pistol grip is a lot funner to shoot anyway
