Checked, he mentioned it in another video briefly that on the pots inside it failed, outside he got a very small amount of moss growth which he decided was a win for him. Also warned that it stinks like spoiled milk lol.
What you're seeing on the poinsettia pot that you like isn't moss, but algae growth. It's really easy to get that look, but it takes patience. Take your terracotta pots, put them in a 5-gallon bucket and fill them with water, completely submerging the pots. Put the bucket in a part of your yard that receives at least 8 hours of full sun a day. The sun will cause an algae bloom which will attach to the pots (and the bucket). Leave your pots in until you achieve the coverage you want. You can give your water a "boost" by adding some pond water to your bucket, so you're inoculating it with microscopic algae. It takes anywhere from two weeks to a month. Even easier - go stick your pots in your grandmother's fish tanks and leave them for a month or two. 😊
Can’t wait to see an update in about a month or so! Experiments are so fun!

Thank you Robbie. Good luck ! ❄️💚🙃
I am so happy I found your channel. New subscriber! Also, our family home burned down in the Paradise fire (our home was in Magalia)… as an adult I always dreamed of buying that home again. So heartbreaking. I’m glad your family made it out alive. I think of it every week. Sending love ❤
Love it, can’t wait to see how it turns out! Off topic but…I know you had a problem with gnats if previous video…amazon sells a plug in bug zapper (a little bigger than a nightlight). Works great if you have an outlet nearby! I keep mine in the kitchen near the fruit and it has caught lots of them.

I love all her bird houses and lawn decor. Glad they made it out of Paradise. I went to Chico State and occasionally visited Paradise back in the early 2000s. It’s so sad about that fire, such a cute little town. Anyway, I was thinking of going on a moss hunt today because I want to fill in the gaps around my flagstone patio. My one question is should I do the blender/buttermilk method if I’m planning to put the moss over soil? Is that for only putting moss on surfaces like terracotta? I’ve seen some people sort of patch chunks of moss that they found between their flagstone. Second question….it’s almost November and I’m in SE Washington, zone 8b. Will it be hard for the moss to grow if the nights are now hitting mid 30s? I (obviously) know that moss grows wild here but I’m just wondering about when we come in and obliterate it with a blender, will that make it hard for the moss to recover from that type of abuse? Sorry for the questions, I have spent my backyard gardening career trying to destroy the moss that grows here and now I’m learning how to actually embrace it.
Do you need to use nonchlorined water or pond water when rinsing the moss?
Will this work on wood or on a canvas?
I love this! Gonna be on the lookout for moss now

I’m going to try this I have lots of moss growing under my oak trees
I soak my pots in water before the moss treatment. I also do this to concrete containers. Actually you can soak the moss and rub the containers down with my hands.

That’s so smart Lucy! Thank you 💚
The extra moss would be great on top of the soil in any plant containers to hold in the moisture.
