Mosquito Lagoon Fishing Report - PB Trout & Slot Red - 7/15/17

Спорт

Finally found some time to get over to my fishing spot in the Mosquito Lagoon. I was on the water by 0620 and had my first trout shortly after that. The trout were super active until about 0730 and then it slowed down. I only used a couple of baits all morning.... Super Spook Jr in Chartreuse / White and a DOA CAL Jerkbait in a home made color. It was actually originally a greenback color, but I had it in a bag with a chartreuse grass pig that bled on it. Turned out to be a really cool green / chartreuse. The Redfish jumped on it. I ended up with a PB Trout at 20 Inches. Caught another good trout not quite that big and landed a nice slot Red. I was off the water by 1015 as planned. Before it got too God Awful hot! Fun morning!
Thanks for watching!!

I caught one on the spook jr. bone color, caught one on a KVD spinnerbait, caught two on the Cut R Worm from LTB and the majority and rest were on a 4 inch strike king senko and missed 11 bass on a frog. It was surely a great day!

Way to go! Looks like you had an awesome morning! That red looks like it put up a good fight :) About a month ago I got to CNS a little late, around 7am, and was told at the gate that I could not launch from lot 5 because it was full. This was on a Wednesday no less... That just ruined my whole day and sadly it went downhill from there :(

Awe man that stinks. I've never heard of them turning someone away from launching. I got to the gate right at 6 and they had opened early. So there were at least 5 vehicles already in the lot. I've never seen it full during the week though.

Yeah I could not believe it myself. I though she was kidding at first.. but no, she was serious... She said I could launch from anywhere else but there. So I decided to go to the boat launch. I had a first time yaker with me. Right off the bat he slipped on the algae infested ramp and down he goes and I mean completely slid under, pfd went off and he could not get back up. I had to drag him back in and have him crawl until he reached dry concrete as he continued to try and pull me in with him (though not on purpose). Needless to say that day ended as fast as it started. He was done. Sadly I never got a chance to turn on my camera as words do no justice to what I endured for what seems to have been about a fifteen minute struggle for survival LOL..

Foul hook on first cast lol, I managed to foul hook a huge carp the other day, thought I had a monster. I was using a large bettle Spin and ten pound line. So you can imagine the ever so carful and patience that was involved

I think that was the smallest trout I've ever caught!! I've never caught a carp but seems like they'd be a fight!
