Mosport Raceway in a Porsche 997 GT3 (

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Got some great feedback from one of the instructors and tried to put it to use to improve the margin of safety and understanding of the car on this challenging course. I'm certainly not maximizing the potential of the car, but it's a daunting track and one that commands respect.

Great job, consistent lines. Like you said its a humbling track and speed will come with time and laps, not a track to feel pressured on.

I've been on the track as a passenger many times but never driven it personally. I think you did a great job... I'd say our skill level and tolerance for pain is similar! Way to keep it in perspective, I thought you were pretty smooth, and I really like the telemetry graphics.

Thanks for the kinds words. Mosport is a humbling track and the g-forces show that I have a long way to go before maximizing my car around this daunting track...

You did pretty good but as I'm sure you know, you could push that car a lot more. We did a 1:32.2 in a Porsche 991 GT3 yesterday. We would hit about 245Km/h on the straight before braking hard for turn 8. The graphics you use are awesome. I love the G force indicator and all of the other stuff. What technology are you using to capture that?

Definitely lots more speed left; I'm scared of Mosport. Tires I think were Toyo R888 or RA1, can't remember. The data system is an AIM EVO4, with a TC dash. I then take the video and data and combine them using TrakVision. The data system is the best purchase I've made in improving my times at the safer tracks where I can push harder (TMP 1:18 and 1:55 at Shannonville)

Great job, the only major thing would be turn 8. Are you running the Pilot Sport Cups? If so don't down shift into 8, it's slowing you down to much, ride the momentum and skip from 5th to 3rd into the turn 10 braking zone. Not sure of the gearing but turn 5A and B shouldn't really have a shift in there, you're coming down to 60kph which in turn knocks a bunch off of your back straight. Just trust the tires if you're running the Cups (sounds like you are from the lack of squealing), they have a lot of grip. Great job though, that track is a blast, I do about 1,000 laps a season and it never gets boring :)

Thanks for the feedback; I'll try the suggestions when I'm back on the track in the future. Seems turns 4, 8, and 5B hold the secrets to speed on that track as small improvements there yield big gains. Just adjusting my braking point into 8 a little resulted in 0.8 seconds improvement!

A lot of people dont think about the g forces while doing this, much different from little johhny's video games lol! Is this a bring your car and go track? Looks awesome.
