Mortlake is an eldritch blend of 70's era folk revival, folk horror and a healthy dose of Tudor and Medieval influences. Our songs are written for the most part based on local legends and tales from the windswept Romney Marsh where we are based. The songs are tales of ghostly smugglers, peasants revolts and highwaymen set to haunting melodies and evocative soundscapes.
