I think this game is made for older players. Its pretty chill and losing items its not a big deal. I have had many breaks from game and there is not gonna be any expansion that make your bank worthless after some time. You can have 1 year break and every item pretty much have somewhat same value. Game really doesnt need that much time (mmo standards). I think this game needs less than most of mmo's out there. If you wanna be best 1v1 fighter of course you need to spend tons of time but just playing normally its pretty chill..

i mean if for someone the only fun thing in mmos is raids for example, you will be playing weeks untill you get access to them. however, games should have a variety of activities that can be fun. a lot of mmos try to tell a compelling story as you get grips with controls and mechanics, later it gives you a dungeon or whatever so you get familiar with playing other people. you wont get everything all at once and that is fine. complete tediousness and pure grind untill something fun down the line is a bad idea. something like Warframe takes a long while to get rolling and for good reason - players are overwhelmed with ton of stuff, however, moment to moment gameplay, some quests, good spectacle etc can keep players going untill those new activities and mechanics arrive. it is possible to do this.

3:30 Everything about your character can be changed post creation. Except for your race. 7:10 Make sure you keep your starter sword it's soul bound 8:30 avoid Fabernum, it's filled with griefers. 11:00 Large horse bags slow your horses down. 11:30 there's soldier and hunting tasks that give you exp and money. No need to just farm zombies anymore when you start out. 15:15 new combat polish update launched. 2nd weapon slot. Fast swap and 50 arrows in the quiver. 16:00 stay your horse before combat. There's a lot more to melee combat you can learn that's not apparent or explained. 29:20 longbow cannot be used on mount. Most people use short recurve bows. 31:10 you were at red exit, unguarded for unfriendly players. Run with your weapon out, you run a lot faster. 32:20 elementalist magic can change the weather, that's the magic you saw there. Hope that helps 🙏

Agreed. It's so hard to get guilds to agree on a game the way there's always something new to play every week, but Mortal Online 2 is all about sticking around for at least months to support your group to have the best experience.

The firework at the end was one of the new Elementalist schools, Polarization. You can change the weather.

I really liked my playtime in the game. It just didn't have longevity with me. I had a great time with my guild and cooperating with other players. The highs are wonderfully high, but you definitely feel the lows.

You dont have to grind to 15 on haven anymore. It's better to go to the mainland at level 2-3 now actually, since they brought out the task system, so that instantly changes the beginning of this game and changes everything you're saying about it.

no. Everyone should get out at max possible clade from Haven as the sweatlords make it a chore to level up. If we could go out at max clade from Haven, that's what people should do. But between 12 and 15 it's enough. Bare minimum is 10. Telling people to get out at clade 2. You must be one of those waiting for new players in graveyards.

​@@captainharlock3998yes. The 1-2% combat bonuses that clades give you will NEVER help you catch up to high level players, but having good gear and good spells, will ALWAYS be an advantage over someone higher level than you. There's genuinely no reason to stay in Haven past level 5 (the new min)

Has a fair share of rough edges but is a truly unique MMO. Strongly recommend any new players trying it join a guild ASAP even if just to start out. You will learn more from a week in a guild than you will in months solo I would love to see Peon play with a guild for a month or two and give an updated view

This is the perfect game for a niche group of people. That was a weather changing spell at the end, it enables spells that requires specific kinds of weather to be cast (and also limits field of view if casted frequently). You can make it snow, sunny, etc. This game is a hidden gem.

If i remember correctly, there are 3 types of bows: short, long, and asymetrical. Long cannot be used on horseback, due to the very logical reason that it is long and your horse gets in the way. Short and asymetrical have the lower bow part shorter, so they can be used on horseback. Your first bow was asymetrical, second was long, that's why you couldn't use it on horseback. Logical, but obscure as fuck. Also, magic and taming/beastmastery are amazing in this game. That's what i enjoyed most before i gave up due to obscene amounts of pk.

So you can play any way you want... as long as you choose the 'correct' stats/class etc or you waste your time. Sounds great. Who doesn't love a game where everyone is exactly the same?!

the only thing you can't change after character creation is your race and every race has multiple viable builds you can respec into, there's maybe 10 builds in the "meta" and like 20 more that are plenty viable, it's not that big of a deal

@@Frater1337anybody who picked human can play a meta paladin or death knight or elementalist, anybody who picked thursar can make a meta fighter or a mounted lancer or a mounted archer, anybody who picked oghmir can make a frontliner or a fatmage or longbowman or the previously mentioned MC/MA builds, and anybody who picked alvarin can make a dex fighter / antimage / dex mage, and this is just scratching the surface of the meta before we get into weirder niche but still powerful shit like mage archers or combining any of these builds with pets or ritualism that still counts as a separate build

Prove to me you don't like magic and I'll give you a like back.

This looks like it would have been pretty cool like 10 or 15 years ago.

What about the TASKS?!?! This is essential for new players to learn where POI's are and you get money and reputation for every faction (which is used to PvP). All the Taverns in the game in every town, including JC, Kranesh, Cave Camp and GK have Solider and Hunter Tasks.

Most epic hardcore experience ever 🤩 it’s like Skyrim gameplay / ambience, but with other players… and it’s unforgiving 😌

One of the best mmo I ever played, i thought the "magic" I experienced in old school mmos was gone forever since I discovered this pure gem. I'll support it until it is dead like I did for asheron's call 2. MoII already got me eternal memories, even as a casual playing on old specs 4790k/1080ti. Join a guild and learn to bypass its flaws, it's indie dev with great ideas.

The RMT concerns are so true. I’m kinda done with player driven economies tbh. It all end up being P2W and people paying to literally skip playing the game

​@@SiKKES7it's literally much faster if you're a new player to hit the min clade level (currently 5) and leave. Figure out a relatively safe area that's protected by guilds, IE Meduli, or a town that's far away, IE Toxai. Then just use tasks to find POI and use your early money to scrape up decent pve gear. (Takes less than 5gp to get double the power of anything from Haven). You'll make more money, get more skills, get more clade, have a VERY low chance of getting ganked, and can join a guild to teach you the game. Also every major town I've visited has tons of places within the town to grind magic, trade skills, etc.

@@jamesgtmoore it's a potion in game, your best bet is to speak to an alchemist you trust, and they'll be able to make whatever you need :)

Don't forget, ageing potions and height changing potions are a thing. You can increase or decrease either, found on the auction house or a skilled alchemist.

To anyone wondering if they should play this game, it is very community focused. You can play solo, but the game really shines when you join a community and learn from other players.

The tasks you could have made a ton of gold just going south to that tower up on the hill and killing the scoundrels. Also gives you alot of clade as well.

Grinding to clade 15 in starter area is horrible advice! Just go to the real world and have fun. You´ll get your clade levels eventually thats nothing to worry about.

They added a monthly sub? They must be real strapped for cash to milk a small playerbase for monthly subs or they know how many of those players use RMT to replace lost gear and feel that the majority of players will pay it without thinking twice.

I've been watching your videos for 5+ years and have to say that I'm absolutely blown away by the transformation you've made. I haven't been keeping up with your latest videos so it was quite the surprise when I see this chiseled man on camera. Massive respect man, keep up the amazing work!

Great game for immersion and RP, if you enjoy or can tolerate full loot pvp, and can deal with jank. It does have some cool features, like a big open world with no loading screens, mounted combat, nice looking character models, tons of customizable crafting, some very cool spells and spell effects at the mid to high skill level, sieges, dungeons (frequently added), proximity chat, open world housing, updates about most every month, and other things I am probably forgetting. However, it certainly is not for everyone.

Uhh... unless an update completely changed things, you definitely don't need to waste all that time on the tutorial island. I only played the game for like a week, but definitely had fun during that time and am looking forward to fully diving in. (I was really hoping to upgrade my PC before I continued which sadly hast happened yet though)

I put at least 1500 hours in this between 4 different accounts because you can't do anything solo without having access to multiple builds and professions. Been through multiple guilds, but you can never really trust many people. However, the first guild I did join was amazing and I made a few long term gaming friends who i now play different games with. The experience is really with your friends, but at the same time, you can have a lot more fun playing other games and not feel like you've been wasting your life away playing this game. Once you realize that the first few hundred hours is grinding and the next is getting decent at whatever it is you want to do in the game, you realize that the game isn't as rewarding as it should be. You spend all these hours to slap down a stronghold, help your friends build a little town, and do pretty much the same grind over again. I've done boss fights, large scale PVP, and set goals with my friends to make the game enjoyable, and it was fun for a while, but it got stale soon after. Would be willing to play a little here and there if they never made a sub based system, but sadly the game still has many issues to warrant not wanting to pay a monthly fee. Haven't played after they added the fee, but the servers used to crash and not get repaired for at least a few days to a week with every update

when you filmed this, there was a memory leak with the ghost world. The longer you spended dead, the worse your performance would be and you'd have to reload. It's since been fixed and performance is much better overall.

I played Mortal Online 1 and was a veteran of many wars and battles. Developed bone plate mail to defend against arrows but it was light enough to swim with. Was always a caster that rode on horseback. Had some crazy moments but dang that game is janky. The only thing I am impressed with in this video is how Unreal 5 is able to make even the crappiest game look REALLY good. Games are meant to be fun not so hard that it can drain your soul. I won't ever be coming back to it but I willl remember the good times. Had an idiot Guild leader and we were riding through a forest and found several guild houses. Someone was building a house nearby that wasn't enclosed yet. Found a key to the main guild house where everyone slept and stored their resources. Guild leader thought I was dumb for thinking the key was to the house. The key DID open the door and we proceeded to slaughter all the sleeping players. It took 3 trips of 6 horses to haul ALL the loot and materials back to hour place. It was enough materials to build 6 tier 3 houses and fully stock us with weapons, armor, and barding for months. Came back to get a few last scraps and the guild that owned the houses returned. We ran to another nearby guild town nestled in the mountains and they chased us. We glitched our way inside a house for safety. We made that guild think that this guild had attacked them and looted all their stuff. So they swore vengeance and that they would return and level all their houses lol. Full blown guild war started between two guilds that never did anything to each other (full horse armies and siege weapons and everything). They never did figure out it was us that did it. Hilarious and fun game for a bit but it gets old REAL quick. I'll never go back. The juice is not worth the squeeze.

Khurite towns hold most books players put in meduli from a vendor. if you try to also add in "spirit travel" or just "ghosting" to a new town to begind like you just did from haven to meduli, grind bandits in another town or figure out the towns special resourse (Meduli is Pansar carapace, Gamun, Alue vera, and Sea dew)

To enjoy MO2 fully, you HAVE to join a guild. They also put a lot of work in polishing the combat in their latest patch, making it more fluent.

While the path of development isn't what I was hoping for right now, there's no other game out there on the market that offers what MO2 has on a 1:1 scale, period. It's definitely worth a try if you're looking for something that makes you feel like you are part of a truly player-driven world. Where you have to make choices, watch your back, get to know who is who in the territorial struggles and guild politics, and make your mark in the game world. As a solo player since MO1 from 2013 to now in MO2, I can say that if you can think on your head, plan your moves, and learn how you can be successful in your own way, you'll have a heck of a good time. Also, contrary to what some may say, this game does not have a long grind before you can start enjoying the game. The great part about this game is that it's not the destination, but the journey, where you'll have the most fun. Maxing out your stats is an achievement, not the end goal.

i totally forgot eve had a similar sort of "if you die someone can come loot you" mechanic. i really miss those kind of mmos. these days most of them play themselves and there's almost no real risk in them. and unfortunately the few of the more hardcore games that are left have incredibly small communities

I love this game, been playing since launch, but I do agree with some of the cons you've listed. For new players I wouldn't stress on the character creator too much, you can change weight and even age through alchemy later on once you get some money, only thing you can't change is your race/sub race. So pick a clade (race) that you like and don't sweat it, DemoMan has good builds on KZread and you can change things like weight and age later, change up playstyle etc. Just jump in and have fun don't worry too much about what is currently meta

Game is great. The community is epic. Either can be rough but the memories you make is worth the price of admission all day. Hope to see you online.

My point being, nobody is ever gonna be pvp ready in less then 24 hours, without having 100+ hours of knowledge in the game already. I would say, even with following a guide to a T would still need you at least multiple days, since you need to get used to the whole game, like combat, and that is assuming you find a guide, somehow know it's still viable and/or not shit and even understand the guide and what it's saying in the first place.

Ever since they added tasks in towns, the best things you can do is get to clade level 2 (so that you can leave haven), and then go do tasks. It can take a long time to grind clade levels in Haven, but with tasks, you can get to clade level 15 in a day-day and a half. Also, farming to take items with you from haven't isn't worth it at all. The best swords you can pick up in haven are comparable to flakestone swords, which sell on the auction house for 50 silver (easily obtainable in 5 minutes). I find it interesting that you had some ideas if how to get a start in the game, obviously from reading or from a video, but it's definitely not the advice I'd give to a new player.

I saw the floating skelly and thought " uh, oh." Then, I heard no "in game map" and "online guide" and I was outy......

It takes a lot of time to play this game but there is nothing like it out there, very unique experience.

I started because of this vid, and absolutley love it so far, i love the feeling I get with risk vs reward, havent had since UO and Darkfall

You forgot to mention there is only 1 server and its based in the UK, and anyone outside of the UK is going to have a massive ping disadvantage.

Mavi is 100% correct. The game is still a blast and enjoyable to play but the ping disadvantage is beyond real.

The first game was a Beautiful game that captured something in me that I didn't really find in any other MMO again, I'd love to get into this game aswell but I don't really have anyone to play it with

Something you have to realize with a game like this is that it's not meant to be easy to survive alone. There's a lot you can do solo but it is far more difficult and dangerous. It's a game where the community around you really matters (for better and worse).

This game cured my Skyrim addiction!

You should start streaming/start a gameplay channel. If it's the effort or time investment you are worried about we don't mind watching unedited vods

I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video. It felt like an adventure.

I wish I knew what all you can do in it. like can I set up a camp near a river, and fish. and just travel nomadically, while trying to unlock the ways of the wizard. how is the house building? can I survive just in a main city if I want. like get a job at a stand and make an honest living? what about thievery? could I be a scoundrel stalking the streets looking for my next victim to rob? and then make off with the goods to my homestead? can I buy a house in the city/cities?

most immersive MMO out there. Local voice ingame chat + everyone in first person view is what really makes you feel the world.

Those who can spend 18 hours a day logged into a game.

There is also age/height potions if you mess it up you can fix it later.

Spent 2k+ hours in this game. I no longer play as the end game progression is gold-based primarily, which is boring. But this game produced some of the most memorable moments in MMO gaming for me. It's rough for new players but if you join a guild early and start exploring with other people it's an incredible game with some of the most dynamic and exhilarating PvP interactions I've ever experienced. The combat system once you get the hang of it (probably takes a few weeks tbh.) is actually awesome, it feels clunky/slow at first though, and puts a lot of people off.

i have 4k hours in this game and tbh i love it and hate it. it sounds dumb but when you get past learning combat and traveling the map its a experience. not a fan of monthly sub

I played with an OrcShaman on Skull Rock US named Kenshiro. Seeing Kunshiro reminds me of him. Hope he made it to level 60.

this is what i loved about this game just interacting with people and making friends however the game is really kinda complicated to understand at least for me

For a game focused on first person combat, the first person combat animations are absolute garbage. That makes me sad.

Sirarms: I remember playing Mortal Online a few years back, It was the best game ever. You where free to do whatever you wanted, and things took time and skill. If you spend a whole day gathering stuff, suddently out of nowhere another player where able to ruin all your hours of work in the matter of a few swings or arrows. The day Mortal Online fell, was when it was released on Steam. Sadly... All new and interested players where thrown into a butcher, spawned in the world of absolute chaos while trying to learn the most simple things. But for the veterans, it was both a good and a bad thing. Mortal Online was unleashed, towards it's own death.

I was wondering when you will try it again, I'm glad you did it. Playing from asia is something else in that game, everything is more difficult than playing from Europe.

@@nikalasnalter4431the point dipstick is prime time isn’t most of the time it’s a couple hours. The average is 750ish right now. And on a map this size that’s literally .2 people per square kilometer, and if most of the people are at hotspots the map is empty.

Really unique game just started playing this. I like the similarity to eve with how the loot works. Looks great too. Agree with you on the combat though it's janky. Also i didnt find staying in haven that long to be necessary. You can do the tasks in towns to earn glory and it's more fun

Just as a clarification: population has declined since a few months ago they implemented monthly subscription. Peon probably didn't noticed because you have a free month. But yeah, this has drastically impacted the game.

I completely agree with you, I've been playing for a long time now. I do like the directional combat, but I think they should have a mass reduced turn speed if the weapon is about to be swung or thrusted to stop their stupid spins. They have just added a weapon swap key bind which is great the amount of times I would put away my weapon mid fight was a joke (skill issue). I want this game to do well but I also feel they shouldn't be charging monthly at this current stage either. The game hope does really well as it is the most immersive mmo I have ever played and it just feels real playing it (except the stupid fight spins). The character creation does need work as it should show your potential build when adjusting stats. More mobs in the game is needed as it can feel dead and uninspiring whilst travelling (although the world still looks brilliant). I know they don't want fast travel but including a teleport in each town should be a thing but you have to be naked and it costs more money each teleport which resets daily. Great content though, always enjoy watching your stuff. This game is great and I wish it to be successful in every way, lets hope Henrik and the team at Star Vault can make these changes to help make the game fair and fun to play for everyone but mostly newcomers. Id love to sit back and watch these spin artist suffer against an overload of proper fighters in these pvp battles! #mortalonline2 #mmo #thelazypeon

More and increased content density would go a long way in attracting other types of players to MO2.
