I will never get over how funny the Scorpion/Bi Han chapter was. Raiden was like "no, scorpion, don't kill him and we'll try and get your family back," and all it took for scorpion to kill him anyway was Quan Chi saying "remember how the guy who you hate bc he killed your family killed your family?" But the funniest part was how scorpion pulls up looking like a guilty puppy before slowly holding up Bi Han's skull. "Sowwy waiden..."

That High School Musical reference was *everything.* Also, I'm SO happy about the Richard Epcar love. He's such a fantastic person and voice actor. He's been in so many of my own favourites-Skyrim, Persona 5, 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors... He's a treasure. Oh my God, that "Fails his critical roll," line is so brilliant when you know Matthew Mercer voices Stryker. This episode slaps.

While I am in love with that idea, I just don't see the kill count format fitting those games. Mortal kombat is cutscenes split up by standard fights with no change in the amount of kills. Those games have varying playthroughs with different outcomes killcount wise

Excellent Kill Count… probably my favorite “to the numbers” bit ever. If there was something I’d add to this killcount it’d be a quick evaluation off all the non-Story Mode “Fatalities” the game has. If not a full examination, having a special award for “Fatality” of the game outside the story mode.

My favorite MK game of all time will always be Deception. The Konquest mode with Shinjuku was one of my favorite campaigns in a fighting game and the ending made me so mad as a kid that I had to take a break for like a month before finding out I could continue playing after the credit rolled. Which made me love it even more.

idk what production companies they are part of, but i worry about Resident evil bc it might be in the same boat as the Last of Us where the movies/TV shows might make them part of struck work? may have to double check on that tho >_> Anyways, horror visual novels are very niche/unpopular so I don't think he'd ever do them, but I think they'd be cool to consider too. (The only popular one on youtube seems to be Doki Doki Literature Club, but there's many more internationally and indie ones on steam).

Even after the strike ends, I wouldn't be opposed to more videos such as this. The quality is top notch and even though I know what happens in these games your insight into them is still fresh. A very fun watch, thanks guys!

Yeah there’s a lot of good horror games out there that James could cover in the future. Maybe they won’t become a staple media type he covers but I would love to see one every couple months or something

Please continue doing kill counts for the next few Mortal Kombat games because I absolutely loved how you did your usual stuff this time on one of my favorite games and I can't wait to see what you do with the next few games all the way up to "Mortal Kombat 1".

MK9 and MKX are tied for my favs. MK9 got me into it and mkx for pure nostalgia

I have to say, I've always loved the Kill Count for the BTS knowledge presented, but I really love how well the style adapted to covering this game. Definitely can see James' love of the game shining through.

I’m so happy to see James covering the Mortal Kombat games. As much as the movies will try, the video games will always have that interesting and messy storyline that’s so fascinating to watch. It always has been an important series to me, no matter how ridiculous it gets, and I’m glad it got covered here!

This video game kill count formula is a really nice addition to the channel. You could start looking at different games like Resident evil, Silent Hill and Obscure and do kill counts for those games since they linear story driven games.

If he ever does a kill count for something like Outlast, what’s the chances that he would limit themselves and do kills that only happen on screen? That or with a combination of bodies that have distinguished causes of death? Probably stretching, but it’d be interesting.

Best part about these videos is how much extra work James goes into, finding out all kinds of random facts and info to go along with whatever he’s covering

You should do more of these and cover the next mortal Kombat games too. The new Mortal Kombat is absolutely incredible

Honestly, MK has a much better storyline than many horror series, so I'd love to see you covering other instalments in the future.

Great job on Mortal Kombat 9 game

Loved doing the challenge tower in this one, my first mortal kombat game, each character ending was interesting and it was a whole lot of fun.

the kill counts keep getting better although there’s a writers strike that doesn’t stop this channel’s creativity

I've loved this channel for years, but this just solidified the hope that it wouldn't just be horror movies. Seriously, awesome work James and Dead Meat crew!!!

I remember playing this game with my childhood best friend for HOURS whenever we’d hang out at or spend the night at his house, and try to beat (I think) the story mode or challenge mode, absolute classic, I’m happy you covered this!

Dead Meat needs to cover the animated Mortal Kombat films Scorpion’s Revenge, Battle of the Realms, and Snow Blind. Now those have a LOT of kills and are essentially horror action films. They definitely have more kills than the live-action films. I love them!

I literally just started the Mortal Kombat games. Gotta love how I am reccomended this video right after finishing Mortal Kombat 2011 and Mortal Kombat X.

Mortal Kombat has always been a favorite for me as a game series having grown up around the originals. Honestly, if I had to pick a favorite, it would be this latest one, MK 1, because it just had a great story to tell and it was so interesting seeing a fresh take on the characters

Words cannot express how cool it is that the actual MK games are getting counted

Video game stories are a perfect next step for kill counts. It opens the door to so many new genres and stories. From classic horror games like Silent Hill and Resident Evil to action games like God of War, or Apocalypse games like Last of Us. The potential is endless

James, this was one of the most enjoyable episodes of the Kill Kount I have EVER seen! I grew up watching my dad and brother play the OG Mortal Kombats for the SNES as well as watching that terribly cheesy 1990 Mortal Kombat movie (which I loved, by the way). PLEASE do more Kill Kounts like this! It was a fun and wild ride from start to finish!

We need a Kill Count Marathon of the Mortal Kombat series! Cannot wait for your Kill Count of Mortal Kombat X, 11 and 1! Keep up the good work!

I think he also forgot to mention that this game was originally banned in Australia because their was no R18+ rating for games but eventually when their was the game was rereleased in 2013

YES. This is amazing. As someone who doesn’t play video games but loves the story lines and watching cinematics, I’ve actually tried to watch the whole story of the newer MK video games through KZread clips but it got too convoluted. Thank you so much for this!

MK1 is back to a more grounded story since it’s technically a reboot. So hopefully you’ll enjoy that better.
