@@VuLinhAssassin even though the game is set in present day, everybody is far younger, besides the royal family, of course as they are still thousands of years old.

I love how Shang Tsung here is made both intimidating, yet a bit vulnerable, you can really tell in some moments that he's really pinned down and not always he has a snarky comeback line or a clever plan to get him out of here. It is a nice change from almost indestructuble presence in MK11 (Even though we all love watching him stepping into every fight talking like he've already won)

The fact that he's in his prolly early 20s or so and already selling snake oil to people just goes to show how he is greedy for money, but not willing to work an honest job for it

Cary Tagawa is a very high bar to clear in portraying Shang as a live action and voice actor. Kudos to Alan Lee for matching that vibe to near perfection in the game

This voice actor really put on a masterpiece of a performance. I don’t usually pay much attention to voice actors but man this guys deserves more credit for this. I had a similar reaction to Shao’s voice in MK 11. On the topic of Nitara’s voice acting it’s unfortunately below the quality I’d hope but still a step up above Rhonda Rousey

His arrogant/sarcastic demeanor and voice are so calm, sounding like a composed villain who is always in control. Shoutout to the voice actor! Also, a the facial expression is so well animated!

Damn dude literally 90% of the cast are straight up good guys now. Seeing Mileena, Rain, Tanya, Reptile and Baraka being paragons of good feels weird but not at all bad. I actually enjoy rooting for these characters now in the canon. Liu Kings timeline is great.

Rain wasn’t exactly a paragon more so he was actually capable of learning and changing. The fact that all the endings seem to be canon is amazing. I gotta say liu kang knows how to craft a timeline cause I never thought I’d root for some of these mofos lol

It's also great because they're not shoehorned into being good guys. They all have actual motives that make some sense. My favorite ones are Baraka and Reptile. They actually have a past with actual motives and i love how they bond with one another because of their losses.

Uh oh....

His face, voice and facial expressions are very much on point, I love everything about this character. They took a movie version of his face and rizzed him up to perfection. Gives me Loki vibes with his expressions. You can see they paid a lot of attention to the details especially when it comes to Shang Tsung in this game. Perceft villain, a lot of applause to both devs and the voice actor.

It actually speaks volumes that even though liu kang knows him and Shang are eternal rivals, he still gave him a chance in his own timeline he created, and even went out of his way to find a truly good version of him to help fight in the final battle against his mk11 timeline Shang tsung

Even then, Luthor has at least some scruples. As bad as his grudge against Supes is, he does have a true respect for him, to the point where he actually attends his funeral after his supposed death and admits that he’ll miss him too. Shang, on the other hand, wants nothing more than to kill Liu Kang, no matter who or what he must destroy to get it.

I like how among all the other characters who’ve had their personalities reworked (I guess Shao hasn’t really changed but you could say he wants to rule Outword because he thinks it’s in their best benefit), Shang Tsung really hasn’t changed much. Sure he’s had an entirely different backstory but he’s still the same conniving sorcerer he was in all of the previous MK games, just with a different appearance and weapons.

One of the best characters so far. He's a cocky, smooth talking bastard, and he's unapologetic about it.

Alan Lee is really capture the soul of Shang Tsung as character with that voice. He truly sound likes Hiroyuki Tagawa.

The voice actor for Shang Tsung in this game did a very good job. Sounds very similar to Cary I love it

Alan Lee did an amazing job as Shang. At times, he's definitely doing a Cary Tagawa but as the game goes on, he definitely does his own spin on it.

Alan Lee does a Fantastic Job Replicating Tagawa’s Voice Tone and Personality and makes it his own, That way Shang Tsung can Live On the Franchise for a Long Time and this Proofs that with the right person your Favorite Characters and Villains can appear in the Future.

He clearly likes and respects Kuai Liang and wished he had joined him. It's very humanising for Shang Tsung.

Shang Tsung is a well-written, complex character ✌

I'd just like to point out that I love where they seem to be taking rains character. Oh he's definitely prideful, he's definitely a bit arrogant, but he now seems to have a great deal more wisdom in showing remorse and knowing that he was lead astray. In short there is a great deal more potential for character development then we've seen with this character up to this point.

I like that how despite being a schemer, he only tries manipulating a select few in intros. Not everyone is worth his time lol. Especially interesting that he has not given up on recruiting Scorpion after all this.
