Available Now: mercury-studios.lnk.to/Morris...
MORRISSEY 25 LIVE is a legacy concert film marking 25 years of the solo career of one of the world's most iconic and enigmatic performers. Shot during Morrissey's most intimate gig in decades at the Hollywood High School in Los Angeles on 2 March 2013, the film opens with fans talking about their unwavering devotion to the singer and the unique appeal of this unusual venue -- a striking contrast to the sold out arena concert at the Staples Center on the previous night. Tickets to the concert in the 1,800-seater school auditorium had sold out in 12 seconds and this now legendary concert became Morrissey's penultimate performance on the US Tour. The first authorised Morrissey film for nine years and featuring many classic tracks from the artist's prolific repertoire, Morrissey 25: LIVE is an unmissable release for fans worldwide.

I was 18 when You Are The Quarry came out. I think that and the one from about 10 years before (the one with now my heart is full) add a lot to his body of work in terms of being complete pieces of work - like thematic albums - I think it shows some growth. Because The Smiths are a band I like rather than love maybe it is easier to be a bit more objective - I think any rock artist that keeps making passable work after their 20s adds to their legacy. People only remember 1 or 2 songs by Lou Reed or James Brown or Ray Davies - but their real fanbase is much smaller but still tend of thousands of people who’ve heard everything

Groovin' bass line, hard hitting drums, close rendition of Johnny Marr's guitar stylings, and Morrissey singing... great live version!
He used to be a frustrated young man. Now he’s a frustrated old man. So really the only thing that’s changed is time has passed.

Singing these lyrics way back in the 80s. Thank you, Morrissey.
MORRISSEY NEVER DIES
Sick ass opening. Instruments were tuned pretty close to the recording with a bit more energy in the guitar and drums
This band brings a lot of power and energy to Morrisseys songs. Epic

Morrissey is a human enigma. He's not gay, he's not straight, he hates England, he loves England, he hates The Smiths, he loves the The Smiths, he hates politics, he's political....everything he does is a complete opposite of everything he does. I still love the guy though....he's just complicated.
The guitar is a little off putting cuz Johnny Marr is a genius and it's just nowhere near. But Morrissey is a good singer to credit him, he smashed his part.
I prefer the bleeding version of this song
7 dates in Europe prior to this gig may have affected my view but I preferred the drummer before this guy, more bottom end. This sounds very very tinny to my ears? Pretty sure the drummer before was Matt Walker
i feel like this video has been sped up, presumably to avoid copyright. just listen to the pitch.

Morrisey has fans everywhere, of every nationality, of every race and creed, and he loves all his fans equally. Music is universal, and isn't limited by nationality or race. The feelings and experiences he sings about appeal to people all over the world.

Dude, you're so right. Without Johnny, Morrissey just can't do The Smiths. Go listen to Johnny do Still Ill and you'll be pleasantly surprised with how Marr covered it. I've gotten to a point now where I'll always love Moz, but Marr is the best in my eyes.

I don't really compare The Smiths to Johnny's solo career or to Morrissey's solo career. Those are three very different entities. The Smiths were electric. They had a handful of years together. It was groundbreaking. I adore Morrissey for the music he's giving solo. I adore Johnny for all the music he's giving too. But wait...these guys were once together in the most influential band after The Beatles? YES! I remember hearing about them as a pre-teen. The cool kids in school made everyone listen to The Smiths. I don't compare them because The Smiths were THE SMITHS, and they broke up a very long time ago. Nowadays, I celebrate The Smiths. I seem to be the odd one out. I'm weird that way. Am I still ill?

Sorry I'm late to this conversation, but yes. Morrissey should retire. If you ask me, Quarry was his last good album. I love Moz, but i think he's made his point, and now he's dragging it on for God knows why. It's sad to see Morrissey like this.

Years of Refusal was awesome and I really liked World Peace. I think he should keep going. I and many fans are still listening.
Absolutely fucking horrible.
Awful. A terrible arrangement, too fast, and the three guitarists get in the way of each other - ruining one of Marr's best riffs.
