If you have some chili flakes and other herbs and spices of the East Asian kind you can make two kinds of sauerkraut one standard (if you grate in some onion and pinapple-ish tasting apples that'll be ab fab) and one Kimchi style.

I like making stuffed cabbage rolls with seasoned ground turkey tomato sauce and your choice of cheese on top. I do alot of experimental cooking. This one worked out. Great job shopping. Sadly im in the US and that app hasn't reached my area yet. What a wonderful channel Claire.

Wow that is a lotta veg! I’d make bubble and squeak probably with all that cabbage and mashed potatoes. But I’ve always wanted to try sauerkraut tbh so thanks for showing how to! :)

My mom makes cabbage patch soup. She usually freezes leftovers for lunches. 2 lbs ground beef 1 cup chopped onion 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 cup chopped green pepper 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste 3 medium tomatoes, chopped 2 tablespoons chili powder 1 teaspoon oregano 1 tablespoon minced parsley 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed 3 beef bouillon cubes 1 head cabbage, chopped 8 -11 cups water salt and pepper In a large soup kettle, brown beef with onion, garlic and green pepper. Add tomato paste, tomatoes, chili powder, oregano, parsley, kidney beans and salt and pepper to taste. Stir well. Dissolve bouillon in 1 cup water and add to soup along with cabbage. Slowly add desired amount of remaining water. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.

Cabbage...slice and dice, blanch, flash freeze, bag it and use it at your leisure or deconstructed cabbage rolls.

Hi Claire. For me all the cabbage says bubble and squeak, served with a nice runny yolk egg (fried or poached) on top, delicious. Also because it is white cabbage you could make coleslaw, and because you are making it yourself you can add exactly what want, and leave out anything you don't like. I love watching your surprise bag's/boxes, I think you get pretty good value for what you pay. Much love and respect, to you, Ed and the wee ones, Jo from the good old South East of England. xxxx PS, more of the cats please. x

Hello Claire!! as far as cabbage goes.. i usually buy a small head and make what i call egg roll bowls.. chopped cabbage, onion, carrot and celery.. i fry/sauté it all with any meat of choice and make a nice Asian style sauce with soy sauce ginger garlic, brown sugar and some rice vinegar or apple cider.. then we have it with noodles.. i also like a traditional Ukrainian dish of fried cabbage with bacon or sausage with lots of seasonings and of course the caraway seeds!! once its nice and hot i add cooked egg noodles.. seriously delicious comfort food!! love some sauerkraut with a hotdog or with schnitzel.. cheers!! 💜🖤💙🤍

I love stir-fried cabbage! I can't have soy sauce or coco aminos so I just use olive oil and caraway seeds. You can even add a bit of white wine. So good!

I use half a cabbage in homemade vegetable soup. I would add some of those carrots also, although when I saw the big bag of them, I thought of curried carrot soup. Doesn't have to be terribly spicy or hot. I would also make cabbage rolls with ground chicken and rice, and a tomato sauce. You got a terrific amount of fruit and veg for so very little money.

I havent had a magic surprise bag from Morrisons for months, the last one I had was just eggs and it got to the point where I couldnt give them away. Usually there is too much fruit and veg for one person but I have bought myself a dehydrator so at least I can preserve some of it should I have a bag again.
