I'm still learning the possibilities with a guitar on standard tuning so I didn't realize how simple it was to get an amazing celtic sound like this, thank you very much

If you drop the bass string to D it makes a huge difference. Since most Irish tunes are in D or G you can have a drone effect going on, on the lowered D. Your still playing in standard tuning for the most part. Google Paul Brady, Arty McGlynn.

@@raymonddixon7603 I'll do that, thank you! On my electronic guitar I've gone down a full step to D standard and sometimes I'll use a capo to play "drop E" on my acoustics but not drop D yet.

@@pickinlessons That is helpful. I have been working this into a session set starting with Swallowtail in E Dorian starting on The E on the A string 7 fret sliding to Kesh jig in Key of G then finishing with Morrison’s. finish nice with the option of sliding back up to Swallowtail. Thanks for your reply back.

I agree if this was played with another guitar live but for the lesson I think it drives the rhythm part well for the lead part to play over. Perhaps it'set up that way on his lesson page where you can tab over the rhythm backing.
