Morocco: A Country Of Captivating Colors And Cultures | Somewhere On Earth
The country of Morocco has been influenced by Arab, European, and African cultures throughout many centuries. See how three people live their lives in among the unique culture and warm scenery, starting with Abdullah, who lives in Taliouine, and shows us the secrets of saffron, a spice worth more than gold. We then meet French nurse Julie, living in the valley of the high atlas, working in one of the most remote environments in the country to care for its communities. And finally Ali and Lahof, the guides of the Sahara, who travel as the merchants used to hundreds of years ago.

Seeing that Saffron grower leaving his family with small bag of red gold, asking his children what they wanted when he sells his Saffron, made me cry, for honest work and sacrifice.

Simple people, simple life. great hearts, great lands ❤
Love and respect for Pakistan 🇵🇰,,, our Muslim brother,,,Morocco
The saffron grower and door to door salesman is an endearing character. His saffron is money while wearing a smirk. The earth feeds him and his family, and he is grateful for it. Morocco is fascinating.
I pray for Morocco. 🙏❤God help them after this earth quake

I love history of Afrika, different cultures is our diversity.
I have always loved the desert. One sits down on a desert dune, sees nothing, hears nothing. Yet through the silence, something throbs, and gleams.” ― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Love this country from Bangladesh
Those people live with a harmony with the ragged mountain and Nature around them which leads them to find their inner-peace and find the truth about life . Away from the bustling city you can attach to yourself . They are really happy with their strenuous work and life they accept it not try to change it . Thanks for this prolific documentary.
For those who wonder, when they say "yeah lah" it means let's go 😊 I learned it during my trips to Morocco in 2015 & 2017, Egypt and Jordan in 2021. You can make many new friends when you learn just few Arabic 😊

"yeah lah" in fact means " يا الله" ( ya Allah); the literal translation or the equivalent in English would be 'oh God!' or 'by God' which has become to mean 'let's get started' or 'let's go'. This is perfectly decent and polite as it is a wish for the help of God when you want to start something. By the way, wether you speak Amazigh or Arabic, the same expression is used.

My brother, thank you for your words about the country, and we are the Moroccan people, and you are welcome among us at all times ❤️ But, my brother, the state of Morocco 🇲🇦 is not an Arab country, it is a North African Berber country, and this is not that we hate Arabs, no, the Arabs are our brothers in Islam, and the Prophet Muhammad is the Messenger of God, so he is Arab. Therefore, we are Amazigh, and we even want the world to recognize our identity and our language😊
An excellent documentary greetings from Pakistan. I am herbalist doctor in Pakistan, and to hardworking Moroccans how they harvest saffron and than sale door to door salute from Pakistan. Good wishes also for Tracks team.

Saffron oiginated in Afghanistan. Even today it is a wild flower in Afghanistan and in Northeast of Iran. Even the name is the Arabized Persian word ZarParan (on Arabic since there is no "P" it is replaced with F) meaning golden leaves.
loved it ❤
