Who am I?
A man from the USA trying to discover the world one place at a time, while sharing the experiences through my lens. I like traveling to places that are usually not first on most people’s itinerary and showing everyone that these places are worth the journey. I want to experience all the countries I visit as a member of the society but at the same time learn about the culture, food and beautiful people. Growth is not achievable without leaving your comfort zone, so just do it

Morocco is a beautiful amazigh country with Arabic/European/Jewish and subsaharan influence, from tanger to the Sahara❤ Actually north Moroccans have more Iberian ancestry than any other foreign one. Amazigh speaking regions in morocco are Rif region (Nador, Hoceima, etc, north morocco), atlas region (khemisset, khenifra, ouerzazate, merzouga, azrou, etc, middle and high atlas) and souss region (Agadir, tiznit, taghazout, etc.). I’m tired of people always trying to Arabize Morocco with their ignorance, stop dividing us. Moroccans are actually pretty homogenous genetically, the difference is mostly linguistic as some completely abandoned their native language. Therefore, that man was wrong. Fun fact. Tetouan means eyes in tamazight, chefchaouen means the horns) You can never go wrong going to Morocco. Welcome brother! Looking forward to watch your videos. I recommend you to visit Ifrane.

Nour deen the taxi driver was definitely wrong for saying people in the north of Morocco are Arabs. What nonsense!!! What made his claim very absurd was him saying that they all came from Andalusia!!! So that makes them Moors then ie Moroccans not Arabs. It was the Moors who conquered Iberia Mr Noor deen .

'Tanja' the best city in Morocco. The locals aka 'Tanjawis' are the most friendly and chilled of all Morocco's people. It is extremely safe, very affordable if you're coming from US, UK, or western Europe, and the weather is mild sunny slightly wet winters and moderately warm extremely sunny summers. Lots of foreign investment over the last 25 years, especially within the last 10 years, giving it a intriguing blend of ancient and modern. Definitely worth a visit for some winter sun, or some summer buzz when all the foreign-based Tanjawis come home and turn it into a boom town for a few months. There is a reason they call it 'aroos al shomaal' i.e. 'the bride of the north' and Myer did a great job. One of my favourite cities on earth

My friend, all Moroccans are Amazigh, but it is possible to find some of them carrying a percentage not exceeding 10% of Arab blood. The driver's information is completely inaccurate because in the north there is one of the largest Amazigh factions who are called the Riafah, that is, the people of the rif, and the cinema that u passed by was named cinema rif. They are Amazigh tribes that speak a dialect derived from Amazigh, which is Tarifit.

  • @DavidKearns4

Yeah, I agree, this is an odd comment. Arabs reached Morocco and established themselves in the area around Fes, and from there spread out to the rest of the country, so everywhere was Amazigh (Berber, though this name derives from Latin, and isn't a compliment...) before Arabization/Islamification.

  • @casablanca3201

I'm afraid that it is not true to say that Moroccans who live in the north are Arabs. Even in the north, we have Riffians who are also Amazaigh. I think the taxi driver referred here to the Moriscos who fled the Andulous from the Spanish Inquisition.

The taxi driver was defininitly wrong. Tangier is full of amazigh people. In fact, on of the biggest amazigh cities like Nador and Al Hoceima are all in the north.
