Psalm 119 (Gimel): Psalm 119 is the longest Psalm (twice the length of the next longest Psalm) and the longest chapter in the bible. It is composed of 22 sections with each section speaking eight verses. They are composed acrostically, meaning following the Hebrew alphabet. These 22 sections are in no particular order but can be considered as pearls on a necklace. Each is integral to the necklace but a beautiful component by themselves. This entire Psalm is about the Word of GOD and how important scripture is.
Gimel is about the psalmist going through an incredibly hard time. The entire world, including the powerful are attacking him. Amidst this season the psalmist reveals the power, the protection and the peace of the scriptures. How they lead to discernment and guidance.
