Morning Bible Devotion: Genesis 1

Pastor Tim reads a chapter of scripture from the Bible to seek Jesus in the known and to see Him reveal the unknown. We see the cultural, historical and faith perspectives of the passages and how the Word of God is as vibrant and relevant today as when lived so long ago.
Genesis 1: The big bang is given to us by God. God created everything from nothing over six days and then rested. When God rested, EVERYTHING was created including time and EVERYTHING across time was known and addressed. We should take a deep comfort in this. We see Adam and Eve (mankind) created as part of creation and then set above creation by God as we are created in their image - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

And God said, let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, and that it was good. This is the first time God saw that it was good. The second time in Genesis that it was written that God saw it was good was when God let the dry land appear and gathered the waters under the heaven unto one place. If I am correct you said the appearance of the land and gathering of the water was the first time God saw it was good. Am I correct or am I not understanding the telling.

Correct. It was not until dry land and seas were created in verse 3 that God said it was good. Before the end of that third day. God will not say that again until day six when He populates the land with all animals and then again at the end of the day after creating Adam. :)
