She’s great but David Phelp’s version gives me goosebumps!

In my opinion David Phelps took this song to an entire new level. I have never heard it sang better than this performance.

As many as I've heard sing this song, David Phelps is the best.

David Phelps is a Gospel Singer who is classically trained. He is one of the top tenors in the world. Here is the kicker for me...David is an asthmatic. I think Morissette did a wonderful job, but as someone who has a good background, David Phelps took it. Thanks for sharing. Two totally different styles.

Morisette is angelic and beautiful. But it feels like a song. Like a performance. Like a presentation of epic beauty. I could sing along and revel in the beauty of the holiday. The final verse is the best... You feel the message better. I want to fall on my knees not just be mystified by beauty. David arrests me. He sings like his soul was being pulled open. You believe every single word is vital truth that he compels you too join in his worship. Fall on Your knees is a command not a request. And 'Christ' is spoken with almost wonder. David makes me feel the worship , the truth of this really was a moment of time where GOD was WITH us.

No contest here. David Phelps is the best singer in the world. He is actually singing to God with every word and relaying his prayers to the world. There is simply NONE better!

I love this performance of Morissette. Its totally different from the kinds and style of songs she sings. It brings me to church when I first heard this from her. Her previous performances of this song, she is singing this with Mariah Carey's version and it was perfect too, especially the whistle part😍.

Thanks so much for finally reacting to my request. It was very difficult for me to decide on a winner. However, i finally chose David Phelps as the winner of this comparison because he had more soul and power in his delivey of the song. At one point in the song it seemed as if the Holy spirit entered his body just took him over. I could feel his performance more. David demonstrated here his ability to cut straight to the heart like an arrow. Despite his environment with the crowds of people he was not overwhelmed by the occasion. Instead he was able to easily command the attention and capture the hearts of the people.

Check out some of his other videos!! FANTASTIC!! He writes, arranges, produces also. I never let a day go by that I don't listen to David. He is best singer on the planet. So glad you reacted and hope you will do more. You will never be disappointed. Thanks.

This obviously isn’t a slight on Morrissette because that particular performance of David’s rendenti on OnHoly Night might be one of the top 5 all time live performances of any song.

David Phelps is the greatest singer on the planet - end of story. Glenn Hughes a close second.

They both sounded amazing. Almost not a fair comparison between the 2 singers since they have different genres and ways of singing. I prefer David Phelps over anyone else. He sings for God. His power and pitch are amazing and perfect. Everyone has their own opinions about who they liked better. It comes down to preference of style. No wrong answer or pick.

David commands the song.

David won that contest hands down. The other singer has a lovely voice but David is anointed by God and his singing touches your spirit and soul.

Both were beautiful renditions of this timeless song. But I agree, no comparison due the totally different styles. David Phelps lives what he sings. Morisette sang a song....again beautifully but not the feeling David has.

Could you please do a comparison video of who sang it best between Carrie Underwood singing her cover version of O holy night live on the Tonight show starring Jimmy Fallon vs Morisette Among again also singing her cover version of O holy night here at the Favor church? This is another excellent match up.

While the young lady is a beautiful singer she is not on David Phelps level. She probably wasn't even born yet when this video was recorded. This was 20 something years ago. David on the other is still singing and sounding better than ever. As a matter of fact he just covered Whitney Houston's I have nothing at the beginning of this year. He is 52 yrs old and slayed that song. Be interesting to see if the young lady can maintain her voice that many years. David Phelps is the Goat. He is one of the best tenors in the world. Not my opinion but the opinion of those in the music industry have said that. Those with more musical knowledge and experience than I have said that of him. So, for me there was no comparison because of David's experience and training.

The best version of this song sang by Morissette..So much soul and power!!

Friggin ell mate there's no competition here, Morissette takes this to a whole new level, sang it like she meant it, this was a FAVOR CHURCH GOSPEL COMMUNITY performance on Christmas Eve 2020, the best O HOLY NIGHT ever sang 🇬🇧🔥👌❤️.

David Phelps is also a great Vocalist as well as many great Vocalist in the World but, the thing is, MORISSETTE VOICE is different from all of them the quality is out of this World. thank you for doing this content

Hi Seth Wiredu! what a brilliant idea! MORISSETTE change that Christmas song ' OH HOLY NIGHT ' into a gospel rocky song. Now you can pkay and hear that song not only during Christmas Season but whenever and wherever there's a Worship Service in a Church. I agree! and everyone do! Davis has an amazing voice and range....but I found Morissette's tone and delivery more pleasing to the ears.

@@samirasamasmat2503 I disagree. If in fact she had pitch issues for half of the song it would have certainly been highlighted by the experts and we would not have enjoyed the performance. The song would have been in trouble. Additionally Morisette in being an experienced singer would have certainty picked up on it and made the adjustment quickly in the song.

Phelps' version is on a much different level...

David version is usually commonly perform by many especially here in the Philippines. We calll it as just an ordinary caroling perform in ordinary occasion or in the street.

exact. Holy words. version that many do in every church and that practically all sound the same. they are not lucky enough to have the vocal timbre of mis amon.

I found some inconsistencies in his performance here. There are times when he went to slow and there were also times when he up. There were also strange notes that aren't needed to be there. He has this tendency of over singing maybe because of his operatic style.

There are no mistakes, he is not perfect, but he means exactly what he sings and how he wants to communicate it.If he Slows down or speeds up that is how he wants it done. And this version was written by the Holy Spirit. David is truly annionted.

David is a master vocalist and the cadence in his singing is deliberate. He purposely chooses to go out of time.

How does an anonymous church singer compare to a girl who is compared, on one level and beyond, to the vocal legends of the world? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ Morissette against whom? I have seen 3 times, David's version, to be 100% sure. classical / lyrical version, which is heard in all American and world churches, technically good, but not of a general level, comparable to the version, performed by miss amon. morissette amon plays, you know, higher notes than lower ones, than David's version. the version made by David is quite anonymous.😕
