Love your truck! I have a black 19 F-150 outfitted with the new gen2 tails from Morimoto. I had the Anzo's on before and these gen2's just blow them away -- very clean looking tails and super bright. I also have the boost bar and that thing lights up my entire driveway when backing in. Unfortunately, the passenger side tail is hyper flashing and customer service just told me to return them. I had to wait forever for them just like you so would rather not return them and potentially wait again for a new pair. Thinking of disabling it via Forscan and hopefully keeping this pair.

I went with blacks on my white truck and they worked perfect, but the reds are super clean!

I’ve got the Led tails for 15-17. I’ve been wanting the Gen 2s just so everything flows nicer with the truck. You’ve got me turning on either to get the smoked or cherry red ones lol Happy you’ve finally got your correct lights though! Looks killer

Great looking truck. All of your builds are clean. I’m curious to know what type of tire you are running and if they handle good in the rain and snow. I’m considering getting a pick up truck in a few months and I’m trying to get ideas for wheels and tires.

Nice upgrade. And thanks for the detailed video. A question though, do the daytime running lights come on automatically, when you start the truck, or you have to use the headlights switch to turn them on (dashboard on mode)? OEM taillights do come on automatically just as the headlights running lights come on without switching on the headlights. I was wondering if those aftermarket taillights are fully compatible with the OEM taillights? I have the aftermarket taillights installed on my 2016 Tundra and the daytime running lights don’t come on without switching the headlights on. They supposed turn on when you start the engine, without switching on the headlights or dashboard lights. If you haven’t notice it, can you please test it and let me know? I want to replace the current ones with Morimoto taillights on my truck. But I don’t want to get them if they are not fully compatible with the OEM taillights. Thanks.

The morimoto’s drl’s are wired to be on at all times. You have to turn “off” the drl on the menu in the gauge cluster for just the drl to be on. Otherwise, the headlights turn on as well. No the tails do not turn on with the drl’s. They are only on when the headlights or parking lights are on. I don’t know if many vehicles that the tails turn on with the drl’s.

As far as brightness, which is bright/more effective, Gen 1 or Gen 2? I like the price on the Gen 1 and I don’t mind the difference of how it sticks out.

Gen 2 is by par the better tail. Better quality LED’s and overall package.

As shown in the video, my truck does not have blis. Works with it without.

Did you have to drill a hole through your license plate frame to pass the boost bar wire? Every install video I’ve seen has them using fake plates with no frame. Mine just came in for my Ram and just eyeballing it, it looks like its going to hit the corner of my frame.

You can drill wherever. I showed where I drilled in the video. And the plate cover hides the wire.

Now you have had the Gen 2 XB for a while, do you miss the Valenti tails at all? I personally liked the look of the Valenti more and if you don't need the blind spot sensors, I think it is a cleaner look than the bubble out design of the Gen 2 XB's with that big useless black spot for a sensor you don't have. Another negative for my truck is that the gloss black elements would not fit with the rest of the blacks on the truck.

Do the REAR DRL on the taillights work 24/7 or only when the headlights are one? I just installed these today and maybe I did something wrong.

Rear drl? The outter lights only turn on when the headlights are on.

@adamsommer8777 correct. Stock tails are not on during the day either. It’s how every taillight is wired.
