i don't know much beyond the basics about Sevendust, and I'm not entirely sure how I landed on this interview, but I'm glad I did. This is a really fascinating, candid look at the reality of being a professional musician. Morgan is clearly not just honest with the interviewer, but honest with himself, and that takes courage and integrity in an illusory era of IGs and Tiktoks, where people are being conditioned to only show their best lives and curate and project a self-styled image of themselves to the world. Talks like this are the reason podcasts are a compelling, crucial medium. I'm sure Sevendust fans are thrilled by this interview, but you don't need to be a fan to get a lot out of it, as I most definitely did. Bravo, Garza, be proud of this. Mad love, respect and props to you both for this.

I hung with Morgan before and after the show.. to this day..such a stand up guy..what you see is what you get..just an amazing guy.No bullshit, no ego..just a cool humble dude. I learnt some extra stuff today through this pod cast. Morgan.Love ya buddy.

I don't remember Morgan ever mentioning that before until this podcast. I'm sure he has but I had no idea. What he was trying to explain was almost exactly like how I was but, I was younger. Yes at that time, doctors just didn’t understand. Nobody did. Felt so alone...feeling like I was the only one who was experiencing panic attacks. It took a lot of time to get through that. I did have a winter where I just kept having panic attacks every night. This is when I already knew what they were but I couldn't stop them. Had to do my best to get through each panic attack..drenched in sweat. Haven't had many since that winter of nonstop panic attacks. After 27 years dealing with this, I've been able to figure out the triggers....what to do..make sure to tell new friends what to expect if they would ever be around me while having one. I do have to say that a couple panic attacks when I was younger almost killed me...I'd run without having control over my body and run into traffic. Anxiety and panic disorders are becoming more aware nowadays. My brother had no idea how it felt to have a panic attack until a couple years back. All those times while I was having them, he just thought it was funny and that I was crazy...like seeking attention. 1 out 3 Americans suffer or have suffered from anxiety attacks. Stay strong

@@MFKR696 First world problems. When people haven't faced true hardships in life they tend to exaggerate the more minor things they've experienced as being the worst and most horrific thing ever because it was to them in their life. It's all about your perspective and I think many people just lack that life experience to have a good perspective on things and they're the ones that tend to make these tactless, ignorant comments about how hard their life is when in reality, it's nothing compared to the truly horrific things people on this planet suffer through on a daily basis, far worse than your little panic attacks.

I met Morgan at Edge Fest in Barrie Ontario 1999, this was the beginning of my die hard love for the band, I got into them prior to that, (1997 Home). He and the entire band have been nothing but nice the their fans. They've given us backstage passes to most of their shows and always spends time to talk their fans. He spent a few hrs chillin with my Brother and I and told so many stories over the years. He's bought things for less fortunate fans, "the underdogs" that have poor up brining's. He bought a $350 bowling ball for this fan that couldn't afford it but had a love for bowling. Better bowling than doing drugs. He's the kindest soul and my all time favorite drummer.

We definitely need a part 2. I could listen to Morgan and Garza talk to one another all day. I wish this could have been a 3 hour podcast ha! Morgan had to go soundcheck though and we at least got an hour and a half awesome podcast. All the interviews Morgan has done with Scott Bowling of Good Company and all the other members he has interviewed on more than one occasion just about, minus John and Vinnie have been great. He has even had Sonny on a few times and Clint and Sonny was on there together also if I remember correctly. What’s great about those interviews is hearing the stories of each Sevendust album, just as he goes through the music catalog of most every musician he interviews. I have always wanted interviews like that, but I notice Scott has gotten away from that a bit more and I thought that was the best thing about his show originally. Garza I like because not only is he a humble cool rocker but he gets stories from some of these artists that we have not heard anywhere before. I think it’s cool to hear Morgan discuss the tough times, like being arrested, broke, divorced, etc. We are all human and shxt happens and so it’s cool to be able to hear that hey… yea we may get to play music for a living and perform in front of thousands, but it’s not all money rich, unicorns and rainbows either haha, and in all seriousness I think it’s good that people hear stuff like this. Remember our favorite musicians are people too have bad days just like the rest of us. Great podcast Garza! 👍🤘🎸🤘

My brother and I as kids, met Morgan. I believe we scared the crap out of this man as a kid by accident. It was when Denial was out. He was an awesome guy, but at first, I have massive panic attacks, anxiety, depression as well, so I could see it, and felt bad. I was a drummer and a huge fan, and they played my area and we were skateboarding around their tour bus, out back of the venue, and I loved Coal Chamber as well, and I asked him about Rayna. My Brother and I were the only people there, He didn't prob know a kid that young was a fan of his and Coal Chamber, so he looked at me like me and my brother were the "black eyed kids." They got us on there guest list and in to this wicked strict 21+ venue. They were so awesome.

I got to hang with Morgan at the bar one night after a show when Sevendust came to town. It was probably the 25th time or something that I’ve seen them play. And I can honestly say that Sevendust NEVER disappoints and they always leave everything on that stage every single time. Morgan was cool enough to sit and have a couple beers with me and just track shop with me for a couple hours even in a packed bar that had a bunch of people standing around waiting to come approach him to meet him….he had some awesome stories about being in the studio and how certain songs were recorded and a bunch of other stuff…he’s a super humble dude and has zero ego . 🤘🤘🤘

This will help some people. I went through the same thing. The initial times that the panic attacks happen you literally think you are going to die. The panic feeds itself because you are scared of dying from it and that feeds into the panic and it gets worse and worse. Once I realized there was nothing physically wrong with me and I wasn't going to die my mindset changed. I would feel them coming and just sit in a chair and take long slow breaths and think to myself "ok... this is happening. Just stay calm and it will pass. You're ok." In time they got less and less intense and eventually faded away. It has been decades since Ive had a panic attack because I am conscious of the triggers that cause them and I just learned to react differently. Now I see them as a minor annoyance that I don't think much about.

If any of you are wondering who his ex wife and babymommy was, its Rayna from Coal Chamber, I always liked Sevendust but never ever saw an interview with Morgan, dude has been through some real shit, very relatable to me, mad respect for this dude. good job Garza, you killed it!

2 ex wives. Possibly 3 but yeah Rayna was his first wife that had a daughter. He also has a son, Jack.

My dream is to co-produce and co-write an album with them. I think "Home" is their best all-around album. I know they have so much talent and I want to work with them to co-create their best album of all time.

I've always been a big fan of his drumming, but he seems such a nice bloke, I'd love to just sit and chat to him

The discussion of how you keep an og lineup was very intriguing. I've always wanted to know more in detail how 311 does it being that they're my favorite band but they always give the same vague answers of "we know we're better off together than we are apart" and it's like no we want more detail than that and Morgan gave that here. It was very interesting. 7 dust and fear factory should have been the face of nu metal. They're way better than the "a listers".
