We were in there 2/16/23 Had a great time. Didn't get to see Morgan (big M, little organ), but we got to meet some downtown locals & some of them played that night. Will will definitely be going back.

Nice documentary. I remember going to the Sunflower River Blues & Gospel Festival, to celebrate my birthday, long before he ever built that club! I first went in 1995 and the stage was setup on the back of an old train station's loading dock. No security, no fences. I got up on the backstage with a small cooler and was handing out beers to these old dudes that had just finished a their set. One old Blues cat was in his 90's!. Had an awesome time! I'll tell you one thing not mentioned in the video, above that stage at Ground Zero Blues Club are sound proof hotel rooms! I've heard they are VERY plush! I'd been going to that club for about 8 years before I ever even heard of them. They kinda keep that a secret.

I had the good fortune to get to play at Ground Zero a couple of years ago. One of the coolest venues I ever played at along with Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa and the Whiskey A Go Go in LA.

Played 4 sets at GZ Clarksdale this past weekend. A dream come true. Next night found us at GZBC in Biloxi opening up for Jimmy Hall. Blessed.

I can honestly say...I played the Blues Harp at the Ground Zero Club with a Blues Harp Session Workshop. They at the workshop, when scheduled...they all play their Harps, at the Ground Zero one night during the workshop... met retired Secret Service Agent, a student of the Workshop, who was an secret service agent, when John Kennedy was killed in Dallas...Jim was not in the investigation but what a conversation...It was on my Bucket List..I did it too. Real proud of it too.....God Bless the Blues and all music. We got to be Angels....LOL

Thank you Morgan Freeman....hope to meet you when I "get back" to the Ground Zero...someday real soon....I wonder if the "Red Man" is still around...He was a Black blues singer around 92 at the time, dressed in a Red Suit, Tie Shirt and Red Hat he sang the blues and it was just a wonderful experience, God Bless him.

Some bad information here. Super Chicken is NOT one of the original blues musicians! First generation blues musicians were playing in the 20s and 30s, long before he was born -- he wasn't even part of the next generation of players in the 40s and 50s. Also, the Stones (1960s) were mostly influenced by Chess Records, Chicago sound (often electrified delta blues).

The Stones were heavily influenced by musicians that played in the Clarksdale area in the 40s and 50s including John Lee Hooker, Muddy Watters, and Howlin Wolf who all toured with the Stones.
