More than just taking notes - Learning exhaust
Ғылым және технология
For me, using Obsidian is about more than just taking notes-- it's about creating learning exhaust. Learning exhaust is the byproduct of real learning, and thinking of my notes as learning exhaust has helped me shift my focus from taking good notes to learning new things well.

When can we buy your book?
When she slide in the DM’s with an Obsidian presentation 😂
The emergence of giggles and fun to be had... also popped your cork there. Emergence in play, in the learning and the teaching, etc. and yes, ALWAYS ALWAYS take what is apparently on offer and switch to your fields and re-apply, and guess what new things EMERGE often enough. : )))))) Nice explanation and flow... good luck at the conference.
Much thanks! I just love these videos that give this kind of insight into your process 😎

Awesome! Anything else in particular you'd like to see?

@@nicolevdh I would really like to see how you publish your work from Obsidian to distributable works and documentation. An example would be publishing notes for an essay or book, or for creating educational material and curriculum from your notes!

Oooh, I need to talk to him about that then. Can Excalidraw do PDFs now?

@@nicolevdh if it is, it really impresses me I see the work flow with zotero I could read pdfs inside zotero And then somehow take these drawings to my excalidraw? It would be awesome.
Having the process spread out in a longer timeline looks to be good for strengthening mental linking and better retention. The Nicola-Napkin association is triggering my conspiracy theorist to start wondering how deep the rabbit hole goes. 😄 Love and light.

Yeah, I think real learning naturally takes time, too. The repeated associations definitely help things sink in - it's like my own spaced repetition system. What do you mean about the Napkin association?

@@nicolevdh Haha. I was insinuating that you were the owner of Napkin and sneaking in favourable comments. Just my warped Brit SOH, I get a wicked glint in my eye and can't help myself. 💜

Hi, Nicole. Great video 😊. Do you use a similar method for fiction? Need to read Tolkien books but there are a lot of characters.
@nicolevdh
Жыл бұрын
Hey! My process for fiction is usually not as involved as this, no. But nothing's stopping you from taking those notes on fictional novels too! :) I know a lot of books could benefit from that for sure.
This is interesting. I am trying to apply this with my notes and making contetn. yes I am a gaming youtube but I think I can make it apply

Good luck! I think learning in public can apply to almost anyone. :)
And nice application of the ChangeLog... so will be reading a bit more.
As a new subscriber, just wanted to mention it would be helpful if you could quickly summarize for people new to your videos what "Emergence" is.
